I've been noticing lately, people who seem like they ought to be taken for car people often times shouldn't. Like, I'll talk to friends and people from car forums who are doing this and that to their car and talk about cars all the time and all this good stuff, but when you ask them what the plans are, they say, oh, I'm going to do something like I/H/E, lower it, put some rims on it, tint it, stereo, pedals and a shift knob and be done. The cliche "of course" stuff and nothing else. Sometimes the reason is to save for something like school or a house or something vital like that. Cool, but what I don't understand is that more often than not it's just that no one really seems to have an interest in a project beyond that point, they'd rather just do that, then just drive it for a whole grip of years, then buy the STi or Evo and leave that stock and just drive it. And yet these same people surround themselves by people who (at least come across as such) are gung-ho about pulling a full overhaul of a car, and fill their conversations with car related topics.
So I'm here because I love cars, I love working on cars, I love taking what a factory offers and produces in uniform, and making it a work of art with more speed, more style, better handling, make it more suited to my tastes, and more show worthy, and I love seeing the benifit of the hard work and personalization. Because of this, I enjoy being surrounded by people who enjoy the same thing, and because I need guidance both to understand the best way to do things, and to find the best deals.
So what's your deal? Why are you at a car forum?
