I personally like the GBA for the stable system but the graphics could be upped. And it has kept its root unlike the others.

well the PSP is way WAY over rated IMO i have played it and i am was like this isn't much better then GBA SP. The DS has a cool double screen with touch control. The NGAGE i haven't had much time with but the connectivity (spelling) is pretty cool. But then again the GBA SP has all of it even tv shows now. so hey its leveling.

          meh

          EDIT:

since my computer is down stairs, I'll use the psp sometimes to browse the net if im laying down in my room all lazy like

The gameboy is a quality handheld simply because it has honestly been Nintendos bread and butter since the "next-gen" war between the PS2, XBOX, and Gamecube. It appeals to their demographic... which is young children. Nintendo knew they tanked with the GC, so they invested all their time and effort into their handheld, which until recently, was the only real handheld gaming device around.

The NGage is a joke. Bottom line, dont even need to elaborate any further on it.

I personally prefer the PSP to the rest because it :

                1. Doesnt need to "wow" you with the fact that it has 2 screens and a stylus pen.
                2. Has "A" ( as in 1 ) sexy screen, as opposed to 2 "meh" screens.
                3. Plays movies
                4. Plays MP3s
                5. Uses a new digital format that is going to become more integrated into more products over time.
                6. Im a Sony Fanboy. If I can afford their shit... I buy it.

The DS is neat, but thats all. Its a novelty. Its a Nintendo product, which since the mid 90's, isnt a good thing anymore. Its meant for the kiddies and those older gamers that havent already become tired of Mario and company.

                  I pick psp because,
                  1)movies
                  2)music
                  3)psp games
                  4)nes games
                  5)snes games
                  6)neo geo cd games

Has anyone checked out this new thing called, Gizmondo? It looks kinda sick to be honest. I saw this E3 footage of it, it has a built in GPS, and your friends or family can actually track to see where you are from a website. I could see a lot of good to come of that, take a look, www.gizmondo.com

yeah i was just reading an article on that. I compared the spec. to the GBA SP, DS, and PSP and it falls short of the DS but kind of ahead of the GBA SP.

But i was playing around with the PSP the other day and i was really let down. I was expecting more. For something that is 300 bucks 250 used. I want console detail and frame rate. the PSP had to many glitches for my liking. I.E. stable GBA SP and DS. I am not a fan of one system or the other. I have all three. But the colors are comparible to me. 32,000 to 16 million i can't really tell a diff. But frame rate and quality is something diff.

I have the older GBA, and I would have to go with that. The library of games suit my taste (the SNES style RPG is by far my favorite of all time). I also have a flash2advance card that allows me to play downloaded games... including NES and original SpinachBoy games.

The PSP is my second choice there for sheer versatility. It's practically a computer. Lots of options, but it's a little TOO much for me. I like my systems simple!

I think Nintendo screwed up with the DS. It's neat, but the touch screen is a bit much... Mario 64 was ported to the DS, and I LOVE that game... however, you use the touch screen to move Mario around... totally kills it for me.

The NGAGE looks stupid... more of a bridge toy than a real competitior... makes me think of Neo Geo's handheld that was blown into obscurity by the GBA. It's not on par with the others at all, IMO.

And for saying that Nintendo tanked with the GameCube, I don't believe that. I think they tanked with the N64 (which had LOTS of potential, but fell short in the delivery.) The cube is their attempt to rectify the problem created with the N64. They have since gotten more grown-up games (one thing that KILLED the 64) and finally mended the bridge that was burned with SquareSoft (which is why we got Final Fantasy 7+ on Playstation, instead of a Nintendo platform like the earlier ones.) The Cube has suffered because of the N64's reputation, and that annoying controller...

I know I'm taking it beyond the scope of the thread, but I want to speak my mind on this... Microsoft is going to fail with the new Xbox. The PS3 will dominate the market as the PS2 did (though their new controller kinda blows). The new Nintendo system will be a decent competitor, but their new "backwards compatibility" system is a little... backwards. Nintendo needs to emulate Sony just a little... and perhaps improve on minor things. Then they need to secure a good developer for each major genre (sports, rpg, action, adventure, fighting, puzzle, etc...) and have games that can be readily associated with JUST Nintendo. I'm a BIG Nintendo fan. Always have been (I was a subscriber to Nintendo Power BEFORE it carried that name... it was the Nintendo Fan Club or someting... I have issues 1-85 in my room) I hate to see Nintento flounder in the wake of Sony and Microsoft! Now that Microsoft is making a horrible mistake with the new system, Nintendo will be #2, and back in the game!

                              Very well put.

I feel the N64 is a very strong system and still is. the next round of systems will finally pull away from our beloved 64bit system. But anywho. Nintendo has always had great systems. But you are right about the game thing. Its like Playstation trying to get a Halo for it. If Nintendo can work with someone to get a shoot/driving/whatever kind of game and get a big base and limit it just to the nintendo products (Revolution, GBA, DS) then they will be even closer to the top.
