is there any way to trace some one by using their AIM screen name? Not AOL. But AIM. I got an IM from StyLisTekLady posing as one of my friends, sending me vulger messages, etc. I have an idea of who it is, i just want to be certian before i do anything rash. ANY KIND OF INFORMATION any one can give me would be a HUGE help. Internet Spamming is really starting to piss me off.

Make sure you keep checking her profile. If "via Hiptop" dissapears, or you see any other sign that she's using that screen name on a real PC with the real AIM client, do this:

1. Open a command prompt and run netstat.

2. Talk to her and tell her whatever bullshit you have to, to get her to directly connect. As if, you want to send her a pic or something.

3. Run netstat again and note the new IP in the list, connecting on port 4443 (if I remember correctly). This should be her IP.

4. Use VisualRoute to trace her IP address. As long as she's not using AOL for an ISP, it should give you at least some general idea of where she lives (or is connecting from at the time).

5. If it appears accurate, use the new info you just collected however you like.
