My thoughts - be careful about passing judgement about this. It's very easy to make a video saying whatever you want it to say. We have no idea what the circumstances were under which this occurred - they don't tell us. I'd have a pretty hard time believing what that newscast is trying to portray: that American soldiers are senseless Sadists who line up innocent Iraqis just to have fun shooting them down. Not only is that a war crime, but it's absolutely disgusting and something that I would not easily pin on somebody. The news media is generally always highly inaccurate and makes things out to be what they are not just to make a buck. Not that I'm defending the Iraw skirmish, but a rational outlook on things can do nothing but help you make a more informed, and well educated decision about what actually is going on.

I hope that nobody is disillusioned about what is going on overseas. Our armed forces, especially the USMC, are trained to kill people. When you hear about the Marines being sent to wherever expect that somebody is going to die. Even peacekeeping forces work because men walk around with guns, ready to kill uprisers.

I am sadened that these skirmishes are occurring, and I'm even more sadened that they are under a different premise than what we, as citizens, are actually told. Even in that light, though, it's best to keep a sound mind when thinking about what's happening.

that is seriously disturbing. yes there is a war going on, but the iraqi soldier should've been taken hostage and given medical attention so that he will be alive for questioning. not simply a couple of marines live target practice. and they were bad shots....two shots fired then finally the third hits. oh well looks partly staged well the interview part, cant tell on the "live" footage.

exactly... the treehuggers freak out when this type of thing preempts the coverage of their favorite preisdential candidate on CNN... not that anyone's vote really matters...as witnessed by the election of 2000. That's a whole other matter though...

As for my personal opinion...

a bit disturbing? yes... it should always be disturbing when you see someone die...if it isn't...well then, you scare me...

an accurate account of everything that happened? No...

out of context? perhaps...

You'd really need to know what happened before and after that lil vid to have a good base to make a judgement...

Dishonorable discharges in some people's future? probably...
