    Video card TV output problem

well, i asked this a while back, but i dont know where the thread is and im lazy so here.

i have a radeon 9600xt aiw and when i turn the tv-out on, the desktop shows normally as it should on the tv, except, any video player i use always comes up blank.

there is a video playing in that pic, but it only shows on my computer. is there some sort of filter or hidden security lock they put in the card to not allow me to see the video? on my old card, also an ati, it worked fine. how can i unlock this? i dont wanna bootleg, which is what im sure theyre affraid of... i just wanna watch a movie i have on my computer. i cant burn it cause i let my friend borrow my dvd player.

cant as in youre just not allowed, or the card just cant do it? my old pos card was an ati aiw 128mb, and i used it for that all the time.

ive tried googling it, but i couldnt find anything... not really sure what to search for. but anyways, i didnt have any luck.

i looked around on there and didnt find anything. i never registered the card and i dont have the box anymore, so im sol. and i dont think ati would help me. i think the problem im having was deliberate on their part. i was hoping there was a hack to unlock it.

Mine does the same thing on both comps. One has Radeon 9250 and the other is a 9200SE. For these cards atleast, in the settings, which ever you make the "primary" screen is the one that shows movies/motion videos while the other will remain blank.

i have a radeon 9600Pro, what i did to get it to work was in the catalyst control center, go to displays manager and use the wizard to set things up correctly. What i did was select "full screen video" and then "clone" and then i was done and also, i'm using VLC media player rather than windows media player and my desktop has all my icons, but my tv is full screen video playing flawlessly

It works, you just need to fix the setting. Right click on your desktop and go to properties then go to setting tab and advance section. then go to overlay and mess around with the setting. I did this couple back and I don't really use it so, I'm not sure of which setting it is. Hope it help
