    I got served...

well, last night at work, I decieded to strip the interior apart and re wire te stereo system, because I was bored... and I had the hood open to have the battery connected and disconnected at my convienience. And this new guy at work looks at the engine while I'm taking a break, leaning against the car. Here's the convo.

    New Guy:" Pre- V-Tec, huh?"

^at this point he kinda cought me off guard^

Me: Huh? Oh, yeah... I was thinking about saving up for an h22.

^Since i dropped the engine code in there, I was thinking "check mate sucka!"

the new guy just shook his head with a slight frown

    New Guy: B18C....

    ^I was like, OWNED!^

    Me: B18, Integras?
    New Guy: Integs, some Accords...
Me: You know alot about Honda's?
New Guy: I had a 480 horse power Prelude...
    Me: Damn, Prelude?? H22?
New Guy: Spoon Motor... Custom turbo set up with a custom mani. custom mounts, port and polished the fuck outta that thing...

    i was dissapointed at myself...

    btw, was his "prelude" bullshit?

Well... in all my time being into cars, the only mention of a Spoon motor I have ever heard was in that blasted movie...

480 IS possible with turbo, but if he truly had it, he paid for it. The guy doesn't sound like a real Honda guy! I've been told that porting isn't a good idea on a turbo H22... it weakens the head considerably. Accord SiR's friend told me that, and I consider him a reliable source.

He knows SOMETHING at least, since he mentioned mounts and manifold (both are useful to have custom when boosting... well, the front mount, anyway.) He may have had it, but I doubt he DID it.

Well, I can't see why he throws in "B18C" when you're talking F and H series. I don't know what Integras really have to do w/ F/H series, Accords, and Preludes. Don't understand that one. How did you get served You didn't even do anything to get served by him.

His description of the engine is vague, didn't name the engine, turbo specs, tuning specs, no specifics! Ask him the details, b/c if I had a setup like that, I'd at least go into detail!

The only thing I can think of him mentioning the B series is that a non-Accord person can think that the B series would work in the CB7. The B is best in the 3G, and some people are more familiar with that swap for some odd reason.

i was just kidding, i thought i had him stummped at h22 because he looked like the type to know what that was. He obviously proved my wrong. I dunno about the prelude though... Kinda sketchy...

With custom mounts, shift linkage, wiring, etc... yes. It will work. Will it do anything? No. The B18C5 has less torque than the F22A6 (134 vs 142). It would move the car, but it certainly wouldn't be worth the price or the effort!

Yea the Godly JDM ejaculatory stimulating B18C5 makes 134 lb*ft of torque...at ~100,000 RPM. If you put one in a CB, you'd need an electric motor to get the car moving, or you'd have to strip it and gut some key structural parts...as well as make the mounts, etc...

And LOL @ that guy. I don't like Civics/Integras/B-series engines but I think I know what there is to know about them...if you're gonna talk, know beforehand.

134ft/lb isn't THAT bad, but off the line, it'll be worse than launching the F22. It WILL move the car, but it won't be as fast as the H22, which has the same 200hp.

The B series is best left to lighter cars... Civics, Tegs, and OLD accords... anything 2600lbs or less. The H22 is best in newer (4th gen and up) Accords and Preludes... it's too heavy for the lighter cars.

The B series sucks for the Accord because of the lack of torque.
The H series sucks for the Civic because of the lack of handling.

                    a spoon h22?

                    lolZ

the only product spoon even makes/made for the h22 besides the univeral magnetic drain plug, oil cap and such is a headgasket, and that has been discontinued

next time you see him, ask him to politely to stop talking out of his ass

DAAAAAYYUM! (anyone watch the Voltron episode of Robot Chicken? ) Now THAT is ownage! Assuming k-mart knows what he's talking about (and I don't know him to spew useless information...) then that is proof that the moron knows NOTHING of what he says he had.

When you talk to him, ask him about the spoon engine... how it's so similar to the Mazda 13b engine. See if he bites.

plus, even if there WAS a spoon h22, i believe spoon builds all their motors for all motor applications, correct?.. if so, the compression would be WAY too high to add a turbo on top of that..

An H22 isnt that bad in a civic if the suspension is set up correctly. A while back their was a vid of a h22 civic kicking ass on a road course.

They CAN be ok with a good suspension, but even then they'll be nose heavy. The weight of the B series suits those cars better.

alrighty this is my 2 cents...as far as my knowledge takes me spoon does not offer an h22 build...mainly because at least as of now they offer no parts that can be beneficial to an h22..i mean yeah you can get like a spoon oil cap and oil pan magnetic plug and like resivior sleeves to keep you to keep your clutch fluid warm on those cold winter days...but other than that i searched spoonsports.us and spoon.jp and nothing showin. the guy ran the right line with the word spoon and b18c because yeah they make spoon b18c's but if it isnt obvious by now he fucked up with h22 talk...and before i go i do believe that spoon is most preferably N/A applications both in the U.S and Japan he is my reference and correct me if im wrong
