but the thing about the membership fee it seems more than likely it will be a fee to post basically. cause with PO you only have access to certain sections and cant post unless you pay.. seems that something like that should work for us. at least that way we are hoarding the info that people can use.

steve, i think that a fee for the board is a perfect idea. As i have stated before id donate money anyways, if you ever needed, because i believe that you and the mods do a great job running the site.

im sorry that the board has gotten to where a thread needs to be created upon bad things that are occuring on the site. cb7 has been a great place for me to meet new friends, find info on cbs and updates on meets.

i think that i have acted inapporpriatly at times and kind of acted like a mod. i regret that. i am not a mod and nor should i have acted like one. I just dont like seeing repeated threads over again or useless posts/threads created. however, it is not my job and i must leave all of that to the mods of the site. Deev, im sorry, if i offended you in anyway by "trying to act like a mod" and you wont see any more posts like that from me.

the site and community is like a home away from home for me and i cherish that i have a place to go when on the computer. i will obey, pay, listen or do anything that i need to in order to keep this board running

Interesting fact: the same 5 people have posted in this thread for 7 pages and therefore either most board members are ignoring it or just plain skipping it over, which i think is bad, because everyone should read it and make note of Deevs oberservations.

When my mother left my dad we had to cut every corner to make ends, we came up with alot of ideas and persued those ideas with much success. Here are some suggestions for people with money problems.

We recycled cans, bottles, and plastic. We would literaly ask our neighbors for their recylables. I mowed lawns for a whopping 5 bucks a pop. We had garage sales to get rid of stuff that we didn't absolutely need. We made little changes in our food to save money. Buying off brands, became very fimiliar with spam, rice, and eggs (yes my father is filipino). I recievied my haircuts from my dad. I would save pennies that I found.

After trying all those options you should be able to come up with 5 bucks. If all else fails you can become fizzbob's bitch.

i love all of you. ok well most of you. but lets face it were a dying breed this site cant stay forever it seems weve gotten a lot of non cb7 ownermembers too which im not hatin on them its just like were overcrowded. however bannign memebers may just cause them to make new names and new posts of why did u ban me guys? i dont know.

Like I said, I'm all for a membership fee....I really do believe it will clean this place up and make it more enjoyable for members who actually care.

hrm, one of the things i like about this site... (there are many things) is that there was always a good daily selection of items in the Classifieds section. now in my opinion having a site fee is gonna decrease the members here, thus decreasing the available stuff in classifieds, which is gonna suck.

on the other hand at least the people then(after fee implemented) that are selling stuff in the classifieds will probably overal more reputable.

if you ask me a "donations" thing would be a better idea,, i personally would make a donation, i know alot of us would.. but if a manditory Fee is implemented , i will pay it. however i like the fact that there is always new members joining, new accords to look at. Sure there is bullshit , but you will NEVER get rid of bullshit, there's bull shit everywhere. having a fee will deter new members from joining. some people wont be able to tell how great this site is without getting involved first.

i dunno i just think making the site have less members isn't a great idea, which to me is what the result of implementing a fee would be.

also, i don't know what it's like to be a moderator, i'm not gonna pretend that i do. But if some of the mods don't wanna moderate as much anymore, and are tired of doing it, just recruit some extra new moderators, there's lotsa good guys on here that will be willing to sift threw the bullshit.

technically, they'll still be able to get the vibe from the board and learn about it's sections and members, etc.

because like i said.. you will still be able to view the board in its entirety... you just need to pay the $5 each year to be able to actually post on it.

as far as donations.. yeah, i've thought about it... but it doesn't give me the certainty of a mandatory paid subscriptions service. i wouldn't have the peace of mind with something like a donations system. if there are already members having trouble paying a required fee.. i'm skeptical that many would pay just to help out.

and it is true that there will be bullshit and angry/stupid people everywhere... i'm not going to debate that. i'm just confident this will help cut down on the amount of it here and make the moderators jobs easier.

I understand your concern about the classifieds section. Honestly, that's the best argument against it I've heard yet! And the other side of that argument is also probably true.

$5 a year isn't really all that much to ask. I mean, hell... If you can't afford $5, then talk to someone! We really DO have a good community buried shallowly under the surface here. It's not as bad as other boards yet, but it's bad for US. This is not CB7tuner.com. This is a mockery of cb7tuner.com. I would throw $5 in for someone that genuinely couldn't afford it... I wouldn't just say "hey, kid I don't know and have never seen on the board, here's $5 of my hard earned money"... but for someone that has legitimately shown support for the board, and has no way of getting even that small amount (which is hard to understand, if they can afford internet access and car modifications...) then I'd be happy to help.

Well, for a free board, we try to focus on the fact that everyone is important. For the mods to start booting people off left and right it wouldn't be fair. If we start charging, then the members have a vested interest... They deserve a clean site, and will be fully aware that trouble will be handled neatly and swiftly. If there IS crap coming from members when they've all paid to post, then they WILL be kicked off. The rules will be much stricter, and the board will be run much tighter. I know I'm going to want to get the best environment possible for my $5!
