You do not ahve any descriptive key meta tags in your site. You need some like let's take this site for example, these are the meta tags in the head:

          <meta name="keywords" content="vbulletin,forum,bbs,discussion,jelsoft,bu lletin board" />
<meta name="description" content="This is a discussion forum powered by vBulletin. To find out about vBulletin, go to http://www.vbulletin.com/ ." />

You can add as many as you wish in the "keywords" one.

You can also submit your site to yahoo

          http://docs.yahoo.com/info/suggest/

But most importantly, and I think this is where you need some help is you need to have some changing content on some pages, and exchange links in other places. Like frequent baby forums or what not and post your links. A lot of times they have places to submit links of your stuff.

Once your content changes and you add themeta tags the google bots and other search engines will find you.

GL and ask away if you have more questions.

            thanks ,

you wouldnt have any names of programs that one could use to host the actual site on there own windows xp computer.

it will save me 30 bucks that ive been wasting a month... i just cancled my web hosting package so the babyfroggy.com does not have any thing right now..

Honestly, it'll take a LONG time for a small site to find its way to the first few pages of a major search engine. People would have to be looking for you directly.

The best ways to advertise on the internet would be to PAY for search engine placement (like Google's sponsored sites... I often click on those, and I've bought once or twice). Also, relevant web forums are a great place... There is a web board for just about everything! Hell, I got a Chihuahua, and lo-and-behold... there are a ton of Chihuahua boards!

As for hosting on your own machine... if you hope to get a lot of traffic, then your home PC will quickly be maxed out. That, or your ISP's bandwidth allowance will be exceeded, causing your account to be suspended for a time. I don't know of anything that will allow it, but I'm sure it can be done if you want to try it. I'll ask around for you.

damn, 30 bucks a month! My god!!!

Anyway, welcome to www.icdsoft.com it is one of the great web service providers out there, and it is only 5 bucks a month. If you sign up you just have to pay for the year wich is like 60 bucks, and I believe that on top of credit cards they take paypal as well.

But yeah man, advertise, but seriously I would also sell some of the things on ebay and put a link to the site. That is cheap advertising right there.

One other thing I would not host a website on a windows machine, too much can go wrong, but then again that is me, I value my sanity!

well i found a program , have it setup and ready to go but I ran into a snag .. you see my router is blocking it .

when i type my ip adress that is from my ISP (bell sympatico) it will go to my router log in page

i figured out that i needed to map the port from my router to the computer thats hosting with the Router IP assigned to it..

but the port mapping isnt working ... i tryed port Tcp port:80 *wich is for websites..

bell wont help me even thow they supplyed the router ... it just isnt a feature that they support ON THER OWN ROUTER .. go figure

and to top it off after i cancled my hosting package if you go to www.babyfroggy.com you will see there sales page (fuckkers) and when i set it up to forward to a diffrent IP/website it stays at that page

so i called my web URL provider www.internic.ca they tell me evry time i make a change to forward it .. it takes 24 hrs... but in the mean time i get to make them money while im being ripped... i just dont get it ( no matter how much you read a contract you still dont know what your getting into. )

YOu need to put the machine in the DMZ zone. What model router and brand do you have? Most personal cable and isp's do not allow web hosting on that type of account. I see you are in canada, so that is also a factor.

Post the model/brand of router and it may be easier to help. And yes it is true it make take up to 24 hours for the changes to propagate throughout all the DNS servers.

I thought 80 was open on all routers anyway since it's http? And if it's in the DMZ won't that cause alot of unwanted traffic through (ie haxxors?) If you give out your IP (pm) I can do a port scan to find out what's open.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

this is what it should go to http://67.70.161.33/ but as you see it may ask for password and user..
