Thats what I'm talking about. Fizzbob's entire post was nothing but a cry of apathy... I'll bitch but won't do a thing about it because there's nothing I can do so I might as well give up now. Defeated from the very beginning...

Cry of apathy? He is stating a simple fact. We pay these people to run our country and they then use it for their own profit. You think that the voice of the minority makes a difference? shit not even the voice of the majority makes the difference. The voice of money is what makes a difference. I did my stand up and fight. My mom raised me right. Early 90's I had walked down university street in berkely chanting out "hell no we won't go, we won't fight for texaco". I vote every election. I even served in the military. Not only do I not have the money or power to make a difference but now with 2 kids I no longer have the time to fight. Time and time again no matter what the people say, the government is gonna do what they want. Another major factor is we that people see what is going and see it as wrong are in the minority. Bush was voted for, fair and square. We gave him that power. And even in the 2000 election when he lost he still got that power due to buying people off.
I educate people when I have the chance cause that is all I can do and even then I still get cold shoulders for it. I have been called the extremist liberal on this site, my friends will no longer bring up politics around me. I have even got into some pretty serious fights with friends over this matter. The issue of politics is such a sensitive matter that I am just tired of fucking with it. A couple months back Fushigires and I got into it. We see things differently and that's ok, but the point was that we are both good guys trash talking each other because we had different politics. To me it is not worth it to fight anymore. I am on your side and agree with you 100% of the way. But I have been fighting this battle for awhile and now I just want to forget about and live my life in some place were I am not to affected by politics. I have burned to many bridges with this shit. I want to talk to my friends and not have to get into fights over who is liberal and who is concervative and which is right and wrong. If I have to smoke pot in my own back yard because it is not legal, i'm ok with that to. All in all I need to turn my focus on politics to myself because like fizz said. It has already gone to far. The country is split and I don't want to claim either side. I garuntee we are going to see a civil war in the next 20 years. It is already setting up for it. Conservative vs liberal. The country has been this split since the last civil war. I just want to hang out and enjoy life with my family. Honestly I am thinking of moving to New Zealand anyway. After all the shit I have seen in doing my tour in Iraq and in afghan, I have had enough war and fighting.

Bracersi, I have felt the same way and gotten into many arguments over politics, but nothing I couldn't walk away from. By all means, step away from this conversation, I'm not trying to pick a fight just spouting off some ideas and opinions.

Fizz, I'm not complaining about who you voted for or didn't vote for, just the malaise of voters in general. I don't blame you for not wanting either one in office, they were some pretty poor choices. However, you have to question why we only have 2 choices when other countries have like 30.

As for having a good system but it fails because of corruption and greed, communism is a fantastic system but fails for the same reasons. So does socialism. So does pretty much any establishment allowed to stand for long enough, so it needs change, not to be ran away from to New Zealand.

edit: and I don't see a civil war happening over anything like this anytime soon. We're too damn lazy to get up and vote for something, who the hell wants to go running around shooting folks? Too many fat people too, we're just not cut out for this kind of work anymore.

Oh it's cool dude. I'm not heated and I don't find you offensive in any way. I know you are not trying to pick a fight. I am actualy enjoying this. Not only do I agree with alot of your views but I support you for shouting them out loud and making yourself be heard. To many people have sat in the dark and allowed the government to do whatever they want. I think your ideas are good ones at that. Do I think that the government will actually give up power to new ideas so corruption can be sifted out? doubt it. But it dosnt hurt to bring up the ideas. With the ideas being brought out it shows how unfair our government is. The main reason I just find change impossible is because are government is not owned by the people, it is owned by major international corporations. In essence are government is owned by the rest of the world. Most of these people that make the decisions on how we live don't even live in the U.S. I will give you a example. Just recently the military base housing was sold to a major international cooperation. Now the military after selling these houses to this corperation now pays the corperation rent for us living in the base housing. The base housing up where I live went for 30,000 a pop. In 2 years the corperation will have all the money back that they spent on the housing on top of now owning the housing. Shore duty for the military is now being sold off to your truly "Halliburton". As we speak the military under orders of G.W. Bush is in the process of deactivating all shore duty and the putting halliburton in charge. I don't have to go into the halliburton Iraq incident because that one is self explanitory. Before you know our military is gonna be bought completely off by private corperations. It's happening already. See the pattern I am getting at? How do you fight something like that. I am just a hippy who goes to school. I am thinking of running to new zealand because the thought of private cooperations taking over complete control scares the fuck out of me.

I agree with that .. not in the sense that, we'll be firing *muskets* or anything like that,
but yeah .. the civil war has been history .. but yet we still have morons, that fly a flag

On another note, no one has used the word *dictator* yet. Someone mentioned something
about other countries having 30 choices, as opposed to our 2 or 3.

Get rid of political parties. Each man/woman represents himself/herself and has no ofiliation with any business, company, group, cult, etc.........
Only thing the represent when elected is the position that they were elected for. Main problem with politics today is have the ceo's of major companies run politics.

Any politician caught lying, taking money for favors or gifts, siding, representing for stated above, Not voting with the majority of people from the state he/she represents, in direct violation of constitution, making deals, using political position in any way shape or form for non political issues needs to be terminated from that position immediately until a complete investigation is done. If found they have broken those rules, then kicked out of politics to never serve in political office again. Jail time would follow.

In elections there should be no private party sponsorship. No campaign sponsorship. If private party comes out on there own free will to bash another member, then that private party will be fined a extreme amount of money and jail time. If private party is found sponsoring a political canadite, then fined and jail time . Everyone should recieve a panflit on all running in elections with stated facts of accomplishment, past political history; incluiding but no limited to past bills voted on, military record, criminal history, convictions, etc..... Brief summary of what they support and don't support, The things they want to get accomplished.

They are applying for the job and we the people need to be informed of who we are hiring to represent our country.

Voting should be very simple. No electoral college. Whoever has the most votes in the country wins. That is were I would implement evol idea of internet voting. Everyone would have their own registration code and the could only use it once. We would have a commitee that also did the counting of the internet tallies and they too would also be subject to the same rules as poloticians. Not only that but they would also have to be elected to tally count and they would take care of all elections over a certain period until someone new was elected to take there place. Jail time would also follow for tally counters breaking rules.

I would set up politicians payment just like military pay. They would get x amount of dollars for the amount of years that they have served (make it like a pay chart) and they would get basic food, housing, and clothing allowance that would be in conjuction with the economic increse for the area the lived in. Government Property would not be used by political affiliates for leisure. If I was president and wanted to go to paris on vacation I wouldn't be flying in air force one. I would buy my ass a ticket. Air Force One is only for official business.

Technically all the bitching would be the corperation's or employer's fault. I understand your frustration but how can you blame someone for crossing the border for a better life? You can't. If you were mexican and saw that you could cross the border and make a shit load of money and then go back to mexico very wealthy, I bet your ass anyone would do it. The real blame should be put on the companies that encourage this kind of action by laying off american citizens to save a buck or two. If I told you that you could buy a product cheaper somewhere else then you would probrably go to that somewhere else to buy it. In essence these business are buying labor at a cheaper price, on the other hand it is dirty because they are doing it illegaly. The illegal aliens are not braking the law. It is the corperations doing the illegal dealings, half of these illegal aliens don't even know their right and laws when coming to the U.S.A. Instead of getting pissed at mexicans, cubans, ricans, etc....., start calling out the companies that encourage this illegal under the table work so they will start following the rules. If companies won't hire illegal aliens then it would force aliens to get a visa or citizenship or go back home were they can get a job. It would get wages to also go up. Be careful what you wish for though because if wages go up, then so do prices on consumables.

No problem, I think all of us needed to vent... there's just been too much BS going on NOT to be pissed off about it. Only the rich seem to not care about politics, probably because they know any decision the gov't makes it gonna be in their favor. The rich get richer and the poor get pissed.
