94-95 body mounted lights only, 96-97 has both body and trunk mounted tail lights

94-95 is OBD I while 96-97 is OBD II (useful for the h22 swap in the future...right, right?!)

and im kind of starving right now so im not sure on the others...but you can also check the other accord forums...

    www.accordtuner.com

    www.accordinglydone.com

unfotuneatly there is no 5th gen specific site like out beloved cb7tuner for the 4th gen..(afaik)

good luck i still like the CD chassis..just rather have a CA and CB than a CB and a CD...

the major exterior differences are the grille, trunk(96-97 are about an inch wider, i measured), tailights as clarkster said, rear bumper, front bumper, and i think thats about it. the interior is exactly the same as far as i can tell, as are the engine choices, with the exception of 96-97 vehicles being OBD-2.

if you going to get teh ex for its VTEC, dont, i cant feel it engage, and after driving the car for about a month i must say that i just started to realize that theres a tiny change in exhaust tone around 4500-5k RPMS . . . get an lx (or DX) its cheaper, lighter, and most likley easier to swap as well. just my .02 as a 5th gen owner

e personally id get the EX for all the other reasons other than vtec, 7 spoke alloy rims (usually), sunroof, power doors, power windows, power seats (option), leather seats (option). yes i know these are also available on the LX but after getting a cb7 LX i want a SUNROOF!!..vtec isnt the best reason to get the EX but i guess if that what you want.

Personally, I like the exterior details of the 94/95 a little better, but thats just me. But....here is something else you may want to take into consideration....ALL 96 and 97 Hondas carry a 150K emissions warranty, meaning any emissions related failure or problem....just about anything that could cause the CEL to come on is covered under warranty up to 150K. Not only that, but once it hits 75K or more, you get a free tune-up courtesy of Honda including an oil change, new spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor, and a computer scan for codes. This my friends is a great deal. If you do end up getting a 96/97 go to your local Honda dealer and have them pull up a VIN status inquiry to see if this has been done yet (S/B 98-081) I just don't understand it, SO many of these cars come into our shop with these nasty aftermarket-autozone parts on them that the customer paid for out of their own pocket....when if they had just come to us in the first place they could have gotten it all done for free with OEM parts. Anyway, just something to think about.

i would get the EX since the side moldings are body colored . also you get rear disc brakes which means you'll have ABS. some LX's came with ABS too though.

maybe it is just me because i liek the 6th gens over the 5th.

the v6's though (if youre looking that way) have a longer front end than the 4-bangers. So if youre into kits or external mods, theres only a select few kits made for the 5th gen V6's

for personal tastes i like the body style of the 94-95's, IMO the single tailights look alot better than the doubles, and the 94-95's dont have such a fat ass like the 96-97's. i've driven both and the 96-97 just kinda feel like youre dragging an elephant around a turn. just my $.02

if you go with a 96-97 spend a couple extra grand and get you a 98 EX V6. i was looking at a 97 ex then i found a 98 and scooped it up. DAYUM, its lovely.

actually after i posted it i realized all the extra stuff my CB7 lx doesnt have that my CD5 ex has . . . the list includes ABS (which i personally find annoying and useless), a sunroof (which i cant live without anymore), painted moldings (love these), 7-spoke rims (only on the 94-95's and kinda hard to find nowadays), leather (useless weight, my seats in the CB were nicer), power seats (well they do go up and down . . . everything else is manual tho).

but let me warn you, finding a 5-speed ex is hard. i looked for a long time for a 5-speed and kinda stumbled on the one i have right now on ebay . . . the extra 20 hp is really nice to have too, but im sure if you have an ex CB now, you will think the car is slow.
