Finch Show Tonight (Pics Inside)

I just got back from seeing Finch and Vendetta Red at the Axis in Boston tonight. What a great show.

Vendetta Red was lousy, but I just didn't care for them very much, so I'm sure that swayed my opinion of them.

Finch was AMAZING tho. Although they did play new material, which I feel is disappointing compared to their What it is To Burn disc, it lent it sell really well to a live performance. They were incredibly tight live, and blew through a lot of the old stuff, which was awesome. I was disappointed tho when they didn't play "Perfection Through Silence" I was well aware they retired "Letters to You" as well as "Stay With Me", but oh well. They also went from "Without You Here" into a version of the Smashing Pumpkins "Mayonnaise", which was awesome.

So without further adieu, here are some of the pictures from the show. I took nearly 50 photos, but I didn't want to bore anyone with a bunch of duplicates, so here's IMO the best of the best. These were taken with a cheap digicam, and lighting conditions in a club suck without a tripod.

















***Normally I get a lot closer to the action, but I was with friends tonight that didn't want to worry about the pit or anything, plus with my digicam, I didn't want to risk getting it crushed.***

heh, I saw VR a few months back with a crowd of about 100, they were the headliners, but the other bands Idiot Pilot and The Divorce kicked their asses, I actually left because I didnt like VR and had seen the good bands already.

Idiot Pilot fucking straight up ROCKS. Best live show I have ever seen in my LIFE. They just go all out, crazy. I love it, cant wait till they come back.

Nah, its Axis. When I saw them in 2003 it was the Avalon...the Axis isn't as nice of a club, but its a lot smaller, which is pretty cool.

oh yea i see that now, reading pwns me. yea i saw the dropkick murphys st pattys day show at the avalon, last year and this year. it was sick, i like how they have that upper balcony thing and the mosh floor is like lower than all the other ones

You went to that show? I've been meaning to get tickets to one of those, but they sell out in June. I'm not so much a huge fan, but being almost 100% Irish and living in Boston...its like a religious experience.

Whenever I got to the Avalon I always end up right at the stairs, so when the crowd moshes, I get knocked over. I was at Fall Out Boy a few weeks ago and that ended up happening.

yea im always on the bar side about 25 ft from the stage half on the stairs half in the pit. when i feel like moshing ill go in and when i feel like relaxing i just hang on the stairs

too bad they retired some of those other songs. that's a dick thing to do, but i understand... and youre still lucky those pics seem hella close
