ebay newbie - what should i do .. tips?

Ok , i would like to bid on some JDM headlights but abit nervous , i only have so much money (not much) and dont want to be ripped off

if i bid how long do things usually take to ship?
what is the payment procedure like?
do you get nervous when you give the money before you recive the product?
does ebay do anything if you get ripped off?
what should i watch for?
Can I do anything if I get ripped off , in terms of being far away?

any other suggestions?

as far as when the item ships is depending on when the auction ends and how they are shipping it. with ebay i give them about 3 extra days to get me something since a lot of people dont keep up with their ebay auctions 24/7.

payment procedure depends on what method of payment the seller prefers.
paypal, MO, credit card, *western union*, uBid, bidpay, etc. (im a credit card and paypal person myself)

well ebay offers a little bit of buyer protection. i cant remember the exact numbers but its partial credit back if you are ripped off. but then it also depends on how you pay. paypal is the method of choice and does offer some protection against getting ripped off, but it isnt the greatest, using your credit card though should help out. MO is a no no for me, esp when its a random person on ebay.

yea, way i USUALLY bid is to factor in shipping, and then you can either bid your max(price only goes up by the designated bid increase, typically .50-1 and sometimes ive seen it at $10) or you can bid low and just keep an eye on it. i wont get into sniping since you are new(though it might be nesc. for some JDM headlights)

sometimes im nervous just cause i paid so much for something and i might not be able to eat lunch for a day...hahaha but most of the time i feel pretty confident on ebay. just do the typical research on the buyer, check feedback, email the seller, and sometimes if the persons rating is real low i will email other people they have dealt with to find out the TRUE overall experiance.

are you buying some projector headlights?...or rela jdm headlights....if u are getting the projectors i will sale u some for 100 + shippinf, but anyways...check there feedback and what others have said about them....depends on what shipping u get.....ground takes anywhere from 3 to maybe 7 days...just depends...try to pay with pay pal....read item descriptions before bidding on...hopefully that helps....

All eBay questions can and should be able to be answered by ebay. Its just like this site..
There are soooo many ways to find answers about how/what to do, and tips up the .. well, you know ..

eBay has a great reputation .. you pay by CC, and get ripped ..both PayPal and eBay work together to resolve it..

You can also email the seller, and ask them anything about the item in question ..
God knows I do it all the time .. lol

And if you want JDM o/p's, I'm sure there's a few members here that could help you out in that dept.?

my tip: keep the item on your watch list but don't bid until the last hour/ few minutes of the auction, if time permits you...

...especially if no one else has bid yet, it's usually a great way to get things for even cheaper


but yeah paypal paypal PAYPAL ... at least then you have some rights if shit goes wrong

and make sure you READ the full auction description, good sellers usually put in AMPLE info about how they handle payments and shipping including times and buyer expectations
