Keep my 1st car or get a better cb7?

This is my current car: my car It's my first car. It's an automatic tho, and there are alot of rust problems on the body, and problems with the tranny. I saw another cb7 for sale, a 5speed one that looked alittle nicer, i didnt get all the info, i saw it parked near me with a 4 Sale sign. Should I sell my first car, and buy this car? I paid $2200 for mine, but this new one is $1000. Should i get rid of my first car tho, i mean its pretty symbolic. There's more of an emotional attachment with it, then there would be with a 2nd car. Would it really be hard to convert to a manual? And would the rust spots be hard to fix? I think you can see them in the pics, there is one by the rear passenger door all the way at the bottom. The sideskirt. And the $1000 cb7 i saw is a 2 door! Thats another selling point for me. My current one is a 4 door, and I would much rather prefer a 2 door. What do you guys think?

it really is upto you, but i like your car a lot..but a coupe would be nice also, how many miles are on the coupe and his the body in good condition? from the pictures of your car, it doesnt look like your rust is that bad...but good luck with whatever you decide

Rock what cha got! Mine is an automatic and rusted up, but there isnt anything wrong with that. As for the rust, fixing it myself is going to give me the oppurtounity to prevent rust from forming in the future.

I will check out the coupe further later on, once i get the phone # off the car and call him up. I might just stick wit my car, convert it to a manual, (Is this easy to do for someone who has only changed oil?), and repaint it.

          no

get the new one, and keep the 5speed as a project car, the auto as your daily driver.

I would agree. If you sunk alot of money into your first car (motor swap, kit, etc) that aren't easy to remove or just dumped alot of $$ into fixing everything so it's running like new, then I'd keep that one. But since you mentioned all the problems with it and also how you want to convert to manual in the future, then I'd get a whole new base to start over on.

yea, if you want to convert, definetly buy the coupe. with parts and labor it can cost over $1000 for the conversion.
