it really is a shame you didnt get the plates, because that would make it so you could get some help with the damages you were entailed with...but good luck and hopefully it wont happen again in the near future.

Unfortunately there's some law in Texas that states something along the lines of: if the object in question hits the ground before it hits you or you hit it then all bets are off and you're screwed.
