I just want to say that I hate alternators with a passion....
I noticed that a week or 2 after putting a new battery in, that my car was sluggish to start. So, out of habit, I pop the hood and check the connections on the battery. They were nice and tight. Then I check the connections on the alternator. The big green plug was fine, but the ground wire was loose. I didn't have any tools with me, so I limper her home and parked it. That was about a week ago. Tonight leaving work, the car barely started, so I borrowed a co-workers tool kit and begin to tighten the nut.....then the whole threaded stud just breaks fucking off.... clean at the base... GOD DAMN IT!!!!
So it's about 1am by this time, and I have to drive home with no lights on(I only live a block away). About 150 feet from my neighborhood, I rack a curb and scrape the shit out of the lip on my wheel, luckily they are stock, and I am sellling it anyway. Now my alignment is way off, I need a new alternator, still need a transmission and window motor. I hate how all this shit happens AFTER I pay my bills and am left with about 80 bucks in the bank.
