they definitely are trying to make it as an integral part of a home theatre system. if this design, or something very close to it, they are on the right track.
Supposedly, there is going to be 2 xbox 360's sold @ launch @ the end of this year. 1 will have the hard drive, while the other will not. The one with the hard drive is suppose to cost upwards of 400, while the one without closer to 300. The 360 will be backwards compatible, and supposedly be able to send email browse the internet, and do almost everything you can do on a basic computer. e.g. Word processing. Im not sure why, but this is what I heard from a reliable source. BTW, bill gates is a shrewd businessman...bungie will launch Halo3 (its an updated halo2 with better graphics, gameplay yadda yadda right around the PS3 launch).

Then it'll sell for 199 6 months later.. I'm not buying it first thing like all my other consoles. Reason being, i got the v1 of the Xbox and had problems out of it and it wasn't as robust with features when using a console interface with modding.

Looks like you're right.. but it's got to be expected that some unit will incorporate everything into one box. There's no reason not to do it now other than marketing and sales.

makes perfect sense, as it will literally be a one stop system, lol. sitting there, playing a basketball game on the xbox, and you get an msn messenger type pop up of an e-mail... pause the game, wait for half time, check the message, e-mail the person back, and go back to your game.
of course i have no idea if something like that will be possible with the system, but with what they've done already with the system and xbox live, i wouldn't be surprised.

with the slick design of the system, it will look at home with other home theatre audio components (receiver, 6 disc/50 disc/100 disc changer, etc. etc.). whether or not people will really buy this as an alternative to a dvd remains to be seen.
It looks pretty nice, i wont get it at launch but i will get one. The only thing that puzzles me is why they are releasing it so soon. Preemptive launches always have a disadvantage, and xbox came out not too long ago.
Honestly , I'm more interested in the Nintendo Revoloution... I've heard some pretty trippy shit about it... The XBox 360 looks pretty... how can I put this...... Familliar? Or Predictable... Even though its got that look to it, I think its pretty cool... And as for the PS3, It'll just break like the PS2's

Heard on G4TV yesterday that they really can't get up to speed on the systems when they keep changing the technology. Remember how bad the old games were on the PS1 and then toward the end of the life of that console, they were really good.. programmers and developers learned the code and how to push the hardware and take advantage of the systems. With them changing all the time, it's hard to do.
There are some killer games coming this summer for both platforms.. Black and STALKER both look awesome, but I heard STALKER was delayed until '06.
Just checked out the Test Drive trailer from the 360 system and it's OK but not groundbreaking.. I think I'll wait till it's 179.00 before I buy it..lol.
