it has nothing to do with a storm.

the term barnstormer refers to go through a rural area giving a performance in a barn, or stunt flying with a small plane in a rural carnival or fair.

given that the lancaster area is that of the amish, the name seems quite appropriate. especially since it's a minor league baseball team, and the idea generally is for the team to have a name for the given locale (historical or somethign else specific to the locale/region). not the most aggressive or intimidating name, but many minor league baseball teams, even major league ones, don't.

Used to be the A's, but I guess their affiliation with the Oakland A's ended this year.

People were pissed!!! Especially with the Scott Peterson crap going on, the Chandra Levy thing, and the Yosemite muders... We're trying to get away from the negative image we've recently gotten and some genius comes up with this name!?!
