I wish that when I searched for keywords I didn't end up with results from other users' build threads. seems my search results are bogged down with dozens of them when im looking for a phrase or the like. Is there anything I can do to limit results to filter these threads out?

To filter search results use advanced search. Here's a couple pics to help.

Searching using Google is often more effective. Just type your search query into Google and follow it with site:cb7tuner.com. It will return results from this site only, and you can use all of Google's search techniques (such as putting phrases in quotes to return pages with that exact phrase, or using +/- to include/exclude words from search results.)
The vBulletin search is a bit weak, though it's good if you need to focus your search on a single subforum or single user. For those types of searches, it works quite well.
