    Ants.

So I opened my passenger side door to find ants and ant maggots. They were along the plastic rocker cover by the thousands. I sprayed then with simple green and wiped them off, and the next day they were back. I wiped them off again.

I later went to drive for about 40 miles to pick up some parts for my Subaru, and the wife says there's an ant in her butt crack, lol. So we take the panel off, and they're all up in the door. We sprayed with simple green again, and put baby powder on everything as it kills scent trails and actually dehydrates the ants. They're no longer in my door, but I got my car on a lift today to check where an oil leak was coming from, and they've moved to the chassis. I used compressed air to shoot them out of the frame. Is there something you guys have used for this shit? I keep food out of my cars for this exact reason, they're trying to colonize, not eat. I'd like to not use poisons because I have 5 dogs, and I don't want them around that crap.

    So annoying.

There are a million spots they could go. I would buy the ant traps where they take the bait back to the home fort and spread the poison.

Even if you poison the ants, you'll be left with hundreds of dead ants in your car. Your options are pretty much to strip the entire car and chemically clean every little nook and cranny... or buy a sixth dog:

I had the same issue with the BMW. I removed all the panels and there were ants behind every single one. I gave up trying to kill the SOBs. I waxed the car and the ants started disappearing on the exterior. Coincidence, perhaps but it the problem was for the most part dealt with. To really kill them off, wait for winter cold to kill them all.

          1. Remove all panels
          2. Build ramp
          3. Put down windows in car
          4. Accelerate towards ramp into a double barrel roll

There is no easy answer for this which sucks. Use the cold and they will hibernate. This could also be like the kids song about the women who swallowed a fly....

'There was a man with a cb7 who had some ants'
'He got a mouse to eat the ants, I don't know why he got a mouse'
'He got a cat to eat the mouse'
'He got a dog to eat the cat'
'He got a cow to eat the dog' (yes, that's how it goes)
'He got a horse to eat the cow'

          And then your cb7 died.

Does a fogger work on ants? I would try that.

My dogs would kill that thing. That little dude is a boss though, haha.

I'm just gonna get some small traps and put them in the chassis holes where water can leak out of, and let it sit for a few. They're not in the door at all anymore. I'll tote the dogs around in the Subaru! AWDWAGONFTW.

Where do you buy food for it. Does it use the litter box?

                      ............Weird.

Cheapest way to feed them is to get your car infested with ants.

I was looking into it when I posted that; apparently they're extremely picky eaters, and expensive pets all around. They sound pretty smart though, at least near the level of a dog.

Have you had any new luck with the ants though?

I wish I could trade my heart for an extra liver, just so I can drink more and care less.

                              ^^^ haha! Great movie!

Also, I put baby powder in the fenders, over the rocker panel, engine bay and trunk areas. And after 4 days there's no more visible ants. I need to look under it again, but so far so good! Now I'm just having problems with these damn Scion brakes. Thanks for he input guys, and if they're like dogs I say get one!
