wow, I am glad that you and your car are ok, it could have been so much worse.

I probably would have done the same thing. My mom did chase a guy down who rear ended her but the guy got away without even a slap on the wrist!!!

I stopped chasing him after I saw a police Tahoe takeover and start chasing. So if anything, he coerced him into the residential neighborhood. He even stopped and let him go, blocking me from following, but then he wiped out on his own a block later and spun out into the Chevy. I stopped chasing him LONG before that, after I saw a police presence I knew this guy wasn't getting away, especially considering how badly damaged his car was from hitting so many curbs at 40mph

by the way, here's what my exhaust looks like after I pulled it off, my engine was running so bad, I had to remove it, literally choking and stumbling at idle because of this 90 degree restriction.

Look at how crunched it is, there's no saving this. Good news is I already found a replacement, header back including the cat for 40 bucks. The guy is pulling it for me tomorrow.

glad you're ok and that your car will be an easy fix. srsly, screw drunk drivers. i bust my butt keeping my car running and NEVER drive with even 1 drink in my system. we've all worked too hard to throw away something like that. if this drunk loser tries and sues, i hope they laugh him out of the court room. he brought it on himself.

I'm just glad it wasn't anything bigger than a Miata. Had it been a pickup or SUV, my car for sure would've been totaled.

yea, I am glad it wasn't something bigger too. that is something that I fear a lot too especially since I have already been rear ended a total of 6 times in my life.

Man, what a bitch it is to remove exhaust bolts. I literally sat there for 30 min with a butane torch, then finally neighbor had a propane torch which put out a lot more heat and i finally got just the axleback off.

I go to buy another one last night, from and LX, didn't know that LX and EX had different pipe to muffler gaskets...had to run to Autozone twice around midnight and get the EX one for my F22A4.

Put it on and it looks like my midpipe is also bent, muffler is pretty tight up under the car and hangers are all compressed.

Idk, i'll just drive it like this until I find a good midpipe after the cat. At least its quiet now. But managed to fix the taillight and align the trunklid so at least it closes straight and hopefully won't leak when it rains.
