    Any Music Composers on here?

I'm curious to see if anyone active on here composes music.

There was a thread about music (Cb7 song!) in the media downloads section a few months back, but I don't see much else.

I sing and write music, and would love to hear if and what other CB7 Enthusiasts have written.

I keep my recent projects with Logic X, vocal recording in the studio, and keyboard improvisations on my soundcloud. Feel free to listen:

I would recommend Nighthawk Saturate, What Wondrous Love Is This, and Eckert Loops. I don't think anyone will get the keyboard improv.

I have performed music...if that counts. I haven't made any original compositions...maybe when I relax a bit I can start. Going to check the link out later.

I was really into making 8-bit music for the longest time.
After moving to Alaska I lost contact with the scene and now it's been a while since I've written anything due to lack of motivation and friends to jam with.
Been on the fence about selling equipment for a while too but can't bring myself to part with some of it.

Your stuff is pretty good Alley Faulk, granted it's not really a genre I'm into.

If anyone wants to download any of my stuff checkout FTFtunes.blogspot.com
Download Desolate or Laser. Polar. Terror.
      Both albums are free!

Get back into it! Don't sell your stuff! This 8 bit music is really neat. I want to work with just 8 bit audio samples and see what I can come up with. It seems like a really good set of boundaries.

Uh, stampede! Bump bada bump ba Bump bada bump ba Bump bada bump ba Bump bada bump ba!

          What instruments do you play?

Your stuff is pretty interesting. What software do you use? I used to write electronic music with an old, free, and very unstable version of Tuareg.
Sadly, with the downfall of MP3.com, and the failure of my old hard drive, all of my old music seems to be lost All my electronic stuff was done under the name "Six Chamber, All Standing"... meant to be funny in that it was super-pretentious.

My most recent project is a punk band: The Parkway. We formed in 2008 as a 3 piece. Played in my basement for a while, moved upstairs, pissed off my neighbors, moved to a studio... added 2 more guitarists (bad idea)... then called it quits.
We just got back together as the original 3 piece. Originally, we were just going to do a good recording of our old songs, and then press a 7" just to have something lasting. The first day we got together to play, we crapped out a really great new song. Now, we're phasing out all the old stuff in favor of new material. Still pressing a 7", but now it's all new material... and we're working on a 12" now.
Initially, we aimed to play midwest-style punk, like the Lawrence Arms and older Alkaline Trio. We still love that style, but we've changed to a sound that suits our location a bit better. We're currently playing in a style more reminiscent of the Menzingers and Captain We're Sinking.
Here's our Bandcamp page, with the first recording we ever made. It was recorded in my basement, about 3 weeks after writing it. Our drummer had never played drums before... and it's pretty obvious in this recording. He's gotten much better! Our singer has gotten way better, too.

Never played drums before???? Well, he can definitely has some punk drumming talent if that was his first attempt! Is that you shredding on the guitar? Man! Get more stuff on Bandcamp please!

I use Logic X on a mac, plus two of the Spectrasonics trio of plugins (the Omnisphere synthesizer, and the Trillian bass plugin). The third plugin is an intelligent rhythm and drum machine called Stylus RMX. I always create my own drum beats and rhythm lines that more closely match real playing, but there is a wealth of good patches on there. Everything in the electronic pieces is recorded into tracks from a MIDI keyboard.

Nah, I'm the bassist. I sing sometimes.
I just got back from practice. My drummer is so much better now! It's unreal. He's still not perfect, but for a self-taught drummer that has no place to play (so the only time he plays is at practice or at shows... and we only practice once a week.)
The guitarist/singer writes most of the music. The drummer writes most of the lyrics. I write all of the basslines.

                We're also on MySpace. www.myspace.com/theparkway

Our new stuff is WAY different from the stuff we have recorded there. We've been getting shows, and even offers to be on a few local compilations, based on the crap recordings we have done so far. Our new stuff, once polished and recorded, will be significantly better. Before, I liked playing the music. The new stuff, however... I actually like listening to! First time ever I've truly enjoyed listening to my own music.
