Yes, I just did. But its not what you think.

I mean I hate to put you on the spot but I mean its really my choice if whether or not I think another 15 year old car is what I really want. I owned my Accord for nearly 5 years prior to that it was owned by my family for 10 years before I took hold of it.

Thats all well and good. But have I said the differ?
I dont really care if you get a 15 year old car, a 20 year old, or even a 3 year old car.
Its what you want. You do what you want.

I knew it inside and out, I know the common problems it has over its span of time. Like I said I had my fun with the Accord. But when I also look at another car I think of its resale value, how much money can I get out of it etc.

Yeah thats one good thing to look for. Lincoln's and Jettas dont seem to hold the same value like, ah lets say, a Honda.

I can put 2 grand worth of parts in an older Accord (circa 1990-93) and it wouldn't make the difference. I can't make my extra 2 grand back that I just dumped into an older car.

Yeah we all know how the story goes, we all saw what happened with Rebel's car...

Having someone else fabricate customized parts for the car itself costs more if anything else.

Cuz most of the time when you see a Spoon or Mugen product you're buying for the name only.
Look at the Mugen socks, they pretty expensive for what they are.
I dont remember where i heard this, but supposely DC makes MeGan parts...now compare the two prices...

I'm not looking to heavily mod my next Honda if thats what you think Im in plans of doing. Turbo costs way to much money , bodykits are lame, and I dont like attracting attention to my stuff.

IDC, you can do whatever you like with your Vehicle. It is yours isnt it?
And if you know me, then you know i am not the one to be "attracting Attention to my Stuff".
I mean, look at my car. Plain as can be...

I like Billy's car thats why I want a Civic. His is a perfect example of clean and simple. My choice of year just differs from his.

But I know off hand being a Civic driver and owner you get that typical 'ricer' stereotype.

I like the cleaniness and a simplicity of a car. Not outrageuously flashy and trendy.

Yeah, his car is pretty clean. Gotta give props where props are due.
But you cant sit here and say thats why you want a Civic.
Because i think you can make ANY car "Clean and Simple".
It all goes back to what i said first.....Its all in what YOU like, and what YOU want. It is your vehicle isnt it?

Well I still think whatever you can do to a Civic you can do to an Accord. Certain things like K-series mount kits seem to only be a matter of time...but we have nearly the same level of suspension parts, along w/turbo & NA pistons, cams, head swaps, etc. Seriously, is there so much that can be done w/a Civic that can't be done w/an Accord?

Yeah man and besides civics nowadays be gettin bagged. Just dont get cocky like the rest of em swearing your the fastest until you get your ass handed to you by someone like me and you mnow i love that shit. Hell I remember at 1 point in time i used to go to the streetraces with a paper called civic kills and everytime i aced 1 i put a slash under the ek or eg bracket.

the ultimate ricers are beginning to rep cb7's IMO.....they're changing sides, as they always do.....and when i say ricers, i'm referring more to people who don't know shit about cars really, don't wanna know but will act like they do....will ask all the wrong questions and will have all the wrong answers.....and they're goofy looking fuckers under 140lbs and wear sweatbands (j/k about the last part lol)

seriously though........this site is a reflection of that.....more members joining who bring NOTHING to the table and will never put anything on that table....they're just hear OT'ing it, asking run of the mill questions just to ask something, finding nothing out for themselves, etc..........fuck that

Dood that's also a reflection of the progress we've made on this site. As far as info goes now, I see this site as more of an archive than a continual place of discussion. I don't want to say everything that can be done has been done (i.e., my LHD EDM freeform beam pattern project) but there are a lot of well done cars and good ideas on this site. Back in its infancy it might have made sense to ask newb questions because there was no info to search from, and IMO a lot of people were basically just getting into it. I think the CB community has reached a point at which everything you need to know is already here, and just a search away. I mean what more can people bring to the table at this point?

We were all newbies at one point...go easy on 'em. And in any case our cars will officially be teenagers next month anyway...the whole 'is it all even worth it' issue kinda takes precedence over any new major developments...

i know what you meant man, which is why my accord isnt going to be a superduper fast accord.
im aiming at a FC (86-91 RX7) for my weekend car. once i get the swap into my accord...it'll pribably last another 10 years. the body is good, engine will be new, clutch is new and all the usual honda stuff will last. i just cant think of parting with the accord but i dont want to spend that much money into it anymore.

i just like the idea that the rx7 can almost pull a G with aftermarket suspension and can run 15's w/ bolt ons. has high maintainece as a reg. sports car so id expect it to perform like one.

the civic/tegs have crossed my mind but i seriously wouldnt want anyone to steal it.

very true, hell i find myself answering more questions from newbs than i do anything else. and i find the answers for them if i dont know it off hand....and i find them by "searching".....why people cant spend 30 seconds to search is past me.......

I cant tell you how much I hate a domestic peice of shit..except for their trucks , and German cars? Good god I love Euro Trance music but the day I start to drive a car thats nitorious for catching fire and having electrical problems..fuck that thats the day Id shoot myself in the foot.

Dont get me wrong on the Accord either..I loved my last car to death and it was the saddest moment where I had to let it go..you saw my story at the begining of the year..I would've loved to have given it to someone else or kept it.

But like Ricky said Accords are starting to become ricer repped. They switch sides. The only reason Im aiming for a Civic is because:

1) They're great on gas for small cars

2) Huge aftermarket even though is a name brand, Im sure I could find something else thats just as good.

The Accord is still my first love, but with gas prices looming at near 2 dollars still I need something thats not gonna burn a hole in my wallet.

And I mean Ive also joined a Civic forum but it seems some of them still loom in the ricer stage.

I can't leave this place...for some reason I dont feel at home any where else but here.

luckily i know enough about my car that i dont need the help of civic forums. they suck. i stay here becuase its a great enviorment. i am on a couple civic forums and its not the same. but i do see a lot of noobs joining that do seem like 16-17 year old kids that just wanna ask,ask,ask, they never wanna search nomatter how simple it is.
