    Feeling like another Sell Out

Well , I dunno as much as I love the site, and Im going to my first ever Cb7tuner.com meet. I feel like..I want to explore other cars. As much as it somewhat hurts to say it, I have to part ways with the hopes of owning another CB7. You can call me another person whos been turned into the Civic crowd aka 'Sell Out'.

I mean I own a truck and I also cruise around in a Civic and yeah as much as I've wanted another CB for so long I cant deal with the fact that they're hard to find rustless...or in really good shape ,I dunno its the sheer fustration that you want to find something clean and spotless and not at all expensive. The Accords fall into the catergory somehow.

Ive gotten so used to the practicality of the Civic, the amount of market support it has...the popularity..and so on. Also the ability to snag one at a relatively low price. It seems a bit off Im ranting..I dont even own an Accord but a part of me still lingers around here and there.

I wanted to wait until after the meet to post this but the I couldn't hold back the urge, the Civic has won me over. To me its cool to hang out and chit chat with people..but at the same time I no longer own a CB so in the same aspect I gotta let go sooner or later and discover other rides.

Just sucks..Im stepping into what I call unknown territory where as before I knew first hand the CB7 in and out..Civic is just really new to me so its a bit of a challenge.

you could be stepping into unknown territory with a cb7 and a different motor in it... i mean, you've learned the car... but a new motor would give you a new challenge too.

i dunno.. i can understand moving on to an entirely different car though. but i'm sure it won't take you long to figure out the civic, lol. its still in the honda world and there's not much new to learn really... except the fact that you have to get used to the nearly non-existant torque and power of a 1.6 liter motor. but the gas mileage is great i hear and you can make them quick with a swap. it just sucks that its so much more money to do the whole B series conversion.

True. Who knows..its a hard to decide whether to stay or go. My ideal thing was to find another spotless cb around here but nearly all the ones Ive come across have rust..and Ive seen clean ones but they happen to be autos...who knows saving is tough with bills and a truck that sips more gas like it was going out of style.

if u want rustless and clean go with a 94-97 accord, pretty much similar but different enough for a challenge

i dunno what things are like for you up in NH - but if you have any auto auctions around, they might be worth checking out if you really want to try for another CB...

...my car was in excellent conidition, esp considering it's from the northeast- and for less than 1500 all said and done (fees and membership included)... it's the best thing i ever did - not to mention that live auctions are pretty fun, imo --

but either way, good luck man.

Good luck... when I bought my accord, it was spotless, had no rust, interior and exterior looked brand new..... but.. I had to pay a lot to get it.

I can see now why, almost every cb7 I see on the road has rust, and a lot of them look like shit.

Try to find a cheap flight to cali or texas or florida, etc. And then drive it home. Of course with today's gas prices I don't know how economical that would be, but it may be your only chance of finding a decent rust free cb7. Thank goodness I live in Cali! All the cb7s you see out here are cancer free!

Now if I was only cancer free! I'm getting there!

Remember tho...ANY Honda in the Northeast rusts in the same spot.

EG's will rust (and have...my friends)
                  CD's rust (have seen many)
                  BB4's rust (have seen)
                  DC2's rust (have seen)

It's only a matter of time before the EK goes.

^^ True but I baby my gfs car like I own it and I always make sure its cleaned up and up to date on maintainence (sp?), same thing with my truck. As you can tell Im not a truck person, but at the same time I can't complain ive never had to pay for both vehicles I've owned (aside from a motor and routine maintainence). Unless I find one thats been garaged since new then yeah Im down to score one that clean but if I see any signs of rust...then its not worth the hassle of buying one for the sole reason that..in the long run its gonna cost me a pretty penny just to keep the rust off.

You guys don't have road salt like we do. There is a design flaw in the rear panel...a little shelf where the inner and outer metal are welded together...the dirt and salt trap there and along with the water from snow, rain, etc create a damp area that just breeds rust.

Be glad you don't have to deal with this. I can show you a picture of my rear quarters to demonstrate what rust does.

It's all good so long as you keep it in the family. and for the love of god please don't get a ford car. The trucks are okay, but the cars are for shit. That's just my professional opinion though.
