    A unfortunate death of a 90 Cb7

This is my friends 90 Accord Ex 391k Auto coupe. Back in july he picked it up for $300.00 in weeds and all he put a gallon of gas and drove it sputtering back to his house, and we imidately got to work trying to save her from the death... we managed to get her running almost not a leak in sight (losest steering ever) and she ran strong good enough to go alot of places but I found out her problem. I watched him rev the car and black smoke poured out the back with each rev, he drove it down the street hauling a** and smoke poured out the tail pipe not a cloud but very visable he didn't at the time have much money but it ran like a champ for a good 1,200 miles everything worked went through put a good alarm in my extra set of foglights went around makeing the trim black again cleaning up the engine bay... then he had to go get it smogged the tech told him ( like I thought) it wouldn't pass and to use a mix of stop smoke and 4 cyl engine restore and before I got back to the car he had put it in thinking that would cure it thats when the engine really started going quick started with it running fine but at stop lights it would shiver and the oil light would flicker at anything under 1k (even though it had engough oil) so I told him to get that stuff out of there quick so we dumped the slimy oil and put new oil after only 300 miles but it was gone then after that it didn't even feel like starting, new spark plugs nope, new oil nope, properly ajusted valves nope best we got was about 3 seconds of 500rpm I even went through and put her on time and she started well when she runs it's un stable and cant even be driven I went through and there was compression on each cylinder except for 4 there was nothing at all there so he is throwing in the towel on a very clean interior 90 accord and i'm going to go back through and remove all the stuff I installed since he does not feel like putting a new engine in her and she is now back on tags. We both agree that it's a great car for what it had left after so many miles just sucks we had plans on bringing her down to C.A.M this year dropped and a new set of rims.... well here is to a very tired cb that he just doesn't have the money to keep and I don't have the room to keep. I absolutely love working with these cars but its not fun to watch people give up on such a good car with so much potential just over a engine I told him " this is a perfect time to drop a H22 in or even another F22 in" but once I get all the electrical parts out of her she is being sent to the junkyard where at least here in the area I live people manage to make cars look like a bear got caught inside on just the first few days on the yard. but Cb blood will run through my veins for as far as I can see !

This is her on delivery minus the fog lights not much changed (Kinda made me want a sunroof it was pretty bad a** )

Sometimes you just have to make the sacrifice. Did the same to my gf's old 92 coupe. She seized the engine so I picked up another F22A and swapped it in. Well the replacement engine turned out to be junk, and since the body was crap as well, we stripped the car for all it was worth and scrapped the shell. Luckily we made our money back on the car and parts and purchased a 99 Acura CL which is an awesome car.

yep.... I just for giggles did a compression test across all cyl #4 is gone at only 90 psi and the rest around 150 ish well as of today she starts but she has to keep above 1500 rpm to keep running and shaking lol didn't overheat or nothing she started to stumble so i adjusted the throttle cable to 2 grand and blue smoke just was pouring out the tail pipe, After I adjusted the throttle taunt I said f*** it she is going to the jy anyways so I took her for a spin going between reverse and drive she died so I had one foot on the gas one on the brake lol since she was Idleing/reving so high at 1200 rpm in gear it was fun staying at the stops managed to take her for a about 20 min cruse she felt beautiful in 3rd at 2000 rpm....got back to the house and wanted to reverse into the driveway ( I have a gate and had to open it) she died I started her up and I watched the temp gauge rise to the top (but didn't hit the H) back into the car port she went..... Now its time to rip the fog's and alarm out and seeing if I need any parts.. I could use a new tranny but im hesitant about a tranny on a 392,000 mile car. Mines (technically) still under 200,000 and having problems (I'm still convinced that the mechanic that did my rear main some how screwed it up)

Why don't you take it and fix it as a second car
