I've seen the same while embarking on my research efforts. I'm thinking either a LS1 if I can find one for cheap and in good condition, or I may just keep it simple and build a LT1/LT4.

Still planning on owning the new Chevy SS within the next year or two. That's my ultimate vehicle goal.

got one sitting in the shop for 300 bucks, turns out theres a cracked head (which is super common, plz beware)

id rather buy ls1's in pieces and put them together with new rings and bearings. probably only be into it 1200 and itll be rebuilt.

        You can't go wrong with a LS1 or a LT1 with a 400 crank.

You can get a low mile 5.3 with harness and ecu around here for $800 with a warrenty. Or a complete wrecked truck. That's how we got the 5.3 swap for my buddy's 86 c-10 and actually made money parting the truck.

You can buy 4.8 and 5.3 around here for 300-400, trucks get parted out all the time since they rust out like crazy.

The sad thing is I think there's a huge market to be had for little pickup trucks, but manufacturer will produce a truck.

I feel even the Tacoma is too big for what it is these days. Then again I saw a 911 Turbo parked in a restaurant tonight and was shocked how large/wide it was.

if volkswagen would have come back with a caddy that gets decent gas mileage then i don't thinik they do too bad.

                    especially with a tdi nowadays.

I'm going to be on the hunt for a fly deal like the ones mentioned.

I was once like that. Set goals, and then achieve them.

People are becoming very large. The average male and female size has increased since 20 years ago.

Thanks. I like her a lot. She runs good. I'm going to take it to Chevy dealer or a local shop to get her freshened up even though she runs good. I saw she needs a new serpentine belt, new coolant lines/hoses, and I figure I might as well go full tune up while I'm at it.

I find most of them on Facebook on the for sale around so and so sites. Around here it's mostly younger kids that have 06 and under trucks. And they are all on Facebook, most have never heard of craigslist. I belong to like 40 of these buy/sell/trade groups and quickly scan them every few days seeing if i can find something.
