    Most affordable/practical Exotic cars?

I'd put this in the Other Automotive section, but it's not really meant to be an in-depth technical discussion.

I just thought it would be an interesting discussion...
What do you guys and gals think the most affordable and practical exotics, supercars, and high-end luxury cars would be?
I'm thinking more in terms of relatively inexpensive older models, rather than anything new. High-end makes that the average joe could potentially afford to purchase and maintain without really breaking the bank.

What falls into the high-end category is really up to you... but I'm thinking primarily anything above the standard "luxury" market (basic Benz, BMW, Audi, Jaguar, etc... aside from the few truly crazy cars that have come from those companies.)

    well thats easy:

    1998-2002 Mercedes S600 or CL600

    M137 V12 NA.

the cheapest closest thing sounding to an F1 car haha

I think you need to define the affordability part. If you leave out the "Standard Luxury Models" I'm not sure what else you're looking for.

There's always Porsche, where you can find older, higher mileage 911s in the 40s and below.

Beyond that the only thing that could commonly be found is probably the NSX, where they exist in the 20s.

            Would a supra count?

            What about an RX7?

Some of those are damn near super car status and affordable

Lotus makes a few models that are affordable.

Lotus is probably in a way the "cheapest" exotic. You can buy one as a shell. Drop an F22A6 in there with I/H/E and probably be faster than what it is stock! Lol

I saw a 700hp Nissan Juke vs a Bugatti Veyron. The Juke handled it in the 1/4 mile but just barely lost in the overall one mile race.

Seems to me the Juke would be the most affordable, practical vehicle since it beat the expensive exotic in the 1/4 mile. You could literally get mexican fajitas as a carry-out dinner, stop and grab a 6-pack, a redbox, the kids from daycare, and the plate will still be sizzling by the time you get home. I'd drive it.

Well, I believe Exotic says impractical and unaffordable, but here's my vote.

The 96 to 06 Jaguar XK8. Very attractive design, V8 engine, available in coupe or convertible. Best part, it's chassis is shared with the concurrent Aston Martin DB7, and you can find clean examples for under 10k easily.

I was seriously considering one a few months ago, it was up for 6500, a 1998 Antigua Blue coupe. Beautiful. I am a fan of vintage Jaguars, but I would drive one of these no problem.

This one is nice, 1997 XK8 with LS6 conversion. The front grill and the wheels make it look cheap, but still a nice car.

well in my mind Exotic would be European cars, Imports are Asian cars. I don't really know what would be "affordable and practical" because when I dream about Exotic cars, I dream big and know I will never have one. I have always wanted a Porsche though.
1997 Ford Explorer V-6 AT (what a piece of junk)
1993 Nissan Sentra M/T (front end damage, off road for now)
                      1999 Mercury Mountaineer V-8 A/T - RIP (rolled: totaled)
1992 Honda Accord A/T EX - RIP (transmission shot: sold to junkyard)

May I present the BMW 840i.

Relatively reliable 4.0 V8, available with 6 speed manual.

                        Pillarless coupe with pop ups.

If you wanted something exotic and yet not too costly, you should consider the NSX. One of Honda's most iconic cars and it is a fun car to drive. I have a couple friends with them and they absolutely love them.
