As it turns out, the loyal customer base I had built has had a great out pouring of support for me. The boss mans is of course using the "I can't believe he would open a shop to put me out of business" I've got to talk to a lot of people I put out of business, or straight shafted because I had to. Most of them ate really cool people. I've also noticed a lot of the shop logos are removed from cars that had them. When I ask why, most of the time they theyll say " ain't no one got time to support that shit" like its uncool to support that shop anymore.

My "side hustle" is a money maker, and it started basically like you are describing. I do LOTS of fab work, paint work, tuning and other random odd ball shit for people out of my garage aka my shop. Over time I positioned myself to powder coat, hydro dip, media blast, weld and basically do anything i want on cars. I hustle my work all day everyday, and its NOT my job. I love doing it too so its a win/win for me. I fund my project cars primarily off of my hustle too.

Keeps car money being spent on cars and takes all the pressure to perform off since its NOT how I eat/pay my bills.
