seems more like both sides have some fault. if he changes his mind about the build a lot, then that would make the ''random holes'' make more sense, since things were installed, then later uninstalled. todd may have more money than brains. later.

I rule in favor or Forged since he's willing to do some stuff for free. But I think errors on both sides.

      It's probably for the best, "Todd" can't handle a 1000whp+ GT-R anyways....

I don't see why these people buy 80k+ cars just to make them go fast in a straight line. Hell a few months back i could have bought a 9second hatch for 15k.

I agree with faults on both sides. Like I said, how do you have all that money and knowledge about parts, but take it to a shop for everything?

It sounds like Todd is an indecisive person who either doesnt know what he wants or cant peg down an idea. In which case, it's going to take months of work, from constant mind changes, and thousands of dollars. If I were Forged, I would've told the kid to take a hike, lol.

On the flip side though, how do you explain the pics? While forged addressed a few issues, they didnt address them all. Shoddy welds, grounded bolts and parts. Granted some changes had to be made to convert a RHD kit to fit a LHD car but there's a point where fabrication beomes dangerous or hazardous. Dumping it all on one employee that no longer works there isnt enough. And not to mention they're caught up in some situation with a competing shop.

It sounds like Todd has too much time and money for his own good and, unfortunately, dragged Forged into this. But it also sounds like Forged isnt capable of handling EVERY kind of situation. I think forged's best option is to get out with as little damage as possible and let him be someone else's problem. Will this hurt their reputation? Perhaps a tiny bit but not if they are truly a reputable shop.

Todd needs to just...get a different car.

No amount of defensive posturing and talk can excuse those welds and band clamps.

The clamps especially. There's nothing to excuse that. Nothing at all.

I would almost agree except for the commend on thread saying...

That guys story and pics are equally just as jaw dropping. I feel for them. And I don't know what it is with turbo shops. When I had my car at one they too broke stuff that I discovered later. Missing spark plug tube seal (upper), broken heater knob cable, scratches, dents.

Its like they all take on more work than they can handle and don't care about the little things. Although this shop was all about power and not about looks (ex: no quarter panel covers, no seat covers to prevent grease marks, scratches, etc).

I just shake my head at the whole situation. One thing that is inexcusable are those welds... And reflect the quality control of the shop. I know little to nothing about welding, but even I can tell those welds are craptastic, its like a first time welder went at it from the local high school.

In the end you really can not believe everything either side says... the only thing credible are the pictures as they speak for themselves.

If it was my car, and my old parts were not returned, I would file felony theft charges. As for the rest of his complaints, the shop should have the chance to fix the issues, but in light of all the gross mistakes made by the shop's workers in those 2 years, the car's owner has the right to take it elsewhere.

Aren't GTR's built in a hermetically sealed shop? Rebuilding a perfectly working GTR OE motor in a regular shop is a downgrade and IMO a fools errand.

Welds are horrible for a gtr, they're fine for a honda
Engine work is speechless, sleeves will always drop if the shop has no experience with them, i mean 5 thousands is barely noticeable by the human eye, but it's catastrophic

Pictures speak for themselves, who ever did this had the idea and although most of it would work, this is a gtr we're talking about not no bullshit 30k car

this time the owner did NOT get what he paid for

You know, the guy spent over 250k and not satisfied....if he has that kind of money why doesnt he just go after them in the courts?
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I'd say quite a bit of money was wasted because the owner kept changing his mind/goals.
He admits it more than once.

Nonetheless he was still taken for a ride, but anyone who is spending money on ANYTHING should have enough common sense to understand WHAT they are paying for, and the value of a dollar.
