Calendar Update

Well, it looks as if Honda's intellectual property guy isn't even willing to respond to my request. It's been well over a week since I emailed him, and I've yet to receive a reply. Essentially, I'm taking this as a big "fuck you" from Honda.

Therefore, since so much effort (my own, and that of our anxious contributors) has been put forth, I'm going to go ahead and remove all official Honda and Accord logos from the images submitted. Fortunately, it doesn't detract much at all from most of them. I apologize to those that I must edit for altering their images... but I feel it's better that fully wasting everyone's time and effort!

Hopefully, as long as Cafepress doesn't throw a fit over these edits, I'll have the calendars ready to go tonight.

It would've been far better for him to simply reply and say "no, you may not use the images" rather than to completely ignore me. Perhaps he just hasn't gotten around to returning my email... but over a week? That's hardly professional.

I may just purchase one of these calendars to send to Honda myself. "Here you go, courtesy of the enthusiast community that you don't seem to give two shits about!"

I don't see the CB community high on their roster, heck were low on the honda enthusiast aswell.

We're people who are fans of old, inexpensive Hondas. Many of our members are young people... college students, people just starting their careers, people just learning to love and appreciate their cars. Many of our members move on to buy brand new Hondas.

So yes, they may not care about cars they crapped out 2 decades ago... but they should care about the people that like those cars enough to decide to shell out $35,000 on a brand new one!

Argreed 100%, tons of us move on but the enthusiast in us makes us all love them in some way shape or form.

Exactly. The point is that tons of us DO move on. I moved on to a brand new Fit. In 07, I bought a certified used 02 SE from a Honda dealership. My stepfather, who works at a Chrysler dealership, owns a TL... due very largely to my devotion to the Honda brand.

We may love the old cars, but we buy new ones. We buy genuine Honda parts. We influence others to buy Hondas with our enthusiasm for the brand. It would not be in Honda's best interest to piss us off!

I hope this is just one error on their part or an isolated incident. It is that kind of crap and other stuff, that made a lot of us abandon the big three from Detroit. (i know they have made huge improvements the last few years but you all know what i am saying.)

Deev, i know your a busy guy, but maybe you should send Honda Customer Service an email describing what happened here (meaning you didnt even get a reply. I know we are a small group but still your words above is very true.

Considering it... though with such a big international corporation, I truly wonder if anyone that would receive any such communication would care, or have the ability to do anything about it if they did!


Anyway, they're done. We shall see if Cafepress has a problem... but at the moment, all seems fine. I actually got them completed, unlike last time. Please excuse my photoshopping of all Honda images. I hope I don't offend anyone by altering their picture. I did my best not to make the alterations obvious.

Despite the necessary alterations, I'm still fairly pleased with the results. I didn't get a whole lot of submissions, but those that submitted were eager to do so. It's inspiring to see such enthusiasm in this group!
Hopefully next year we'll have more submissions.

If you submitted this year and didn't make it, feel free to submit for next year. Be sure to read the guidelines carefully, as I had a handful of submissions that went directly into the trash this time around because people didn't submit according to the necessary requirements. There are certain things that I just can not make exceptions for!
