Ive heard good things about the Hankook Ventus tires. Those would be something I would see about also.

I considered the nero zero and the nexxen prior to starting this thread.

Why would either be a better tire? They all get similar reviews.

And FWIW my DSM is AWD, so maybe thats why I have a different feeling about driving in the rain on Khumo's. I don't really have any complaints. Maybe if the car was FWD I would feel different, who knows.

Tires are not like wheels IMO. You do get what you pay for. Tires are extremely important in all aspects and a Kumho is known to be a cheap tire as where Pirellis are known to be a very good tire. And right now you can get the Pirelli for about the same price as the Kumho. I would jump all over that if i was buying tires right now.

When I look at each review the first thing I look at is what car they are driving. Your right, you being AWD it will handle better than a FWD, but having good tires will still make a difference.

          It is interesting to me.

On one hand you suggest that you get what you pay for, but the pirelli tire is cheaper than the khumo.

          Lol

I dunno, maybe I need to do some more research on tires. I liked the look of the tread pattern, but honestly that was probably the only thing that attracted me to the khumo.

I'll check into tires more before i pull the trigger. If I was going to be driving the car hard, I would be rocking Dunlap tires like I always do.

Its on sale right now. Thats why its cheaper. See where is says Closeout under price? Thats the whole point of why I brought up that specific tire.

EDIT: IDK how much they were before they were on Closeout but It was a hell of a lot more. Here they are on tire buyer for $198ea. http://www.tirebuyer.com/tires/pirel...e_pricegrabber

When I said you get what you pay for in this instance your getting a $150-$200 tire for $80. Why go with a crappy Kumho when you can get a Pirelli for the same price. You cant compare the reviews for a Pirelli to a Kumho IMO. People that buy Pirellis are typicaly people who have high end cars and desire a whole lot better tire. They are going to be more of a stickler on reviews. Keep that in mind.

the xxr's are "played out" but the silver/grey looks good. so my vote goes for the xxr's. if the EV5 made a decent offset then those would of been a good choice.

nope, 17x7 +38 or +40 depending on the rim. I think the XXR is +40 and the enkei is +38.

Will run 205/45/17 tires. At this point I am leaning towards the Gold 962 rims. I think the brighter gold will really look hot against the green car.

I like the XXRs better because of the flat face. Gold will look sexi against a green car. I was going to suggest Continental tires but they are $$$ . I have 4 brand new 195/65s on and the ride like a dream with my stiff suspension.

I thought the xxr 962 look familiar.

I have a set of the enkei ev5 and think that they look great. My wife killed the passenger front one on a curb. They have brand new tires also. I am partial to the enkei wheels and have to agree that the xxr wheels look nice, but are cheap wheels. If both wheels are about the same price, go with the better quality enkei.
