Pretty often I hear that things were much more simpler back then.

Do you think they every generation said the same thing? (This can be applied to anything)

Yeah, "back then" if you had an argument over who was the 19th President, you'd say "I'll prove you wrong. Just wait until Saturday and I'll take the morning to go to the library and research!"

But yeah, I think every generation probably felt that way. At least in the past century. I'm not sure everyone would think life was simpler before electricity and indoor plumbing. "There's 3 feet of snow on the ground, and I have to walk through the back yard in the dark to go take a shit at 4am"... NOT simple.

BUT, "I come home from work, sit down in my easy chair and turn on the radio just in time for my favorite program. My dog brings me my slippers, and my wife brings me scotch and a bowl of homemade stew." I could imagine looking fondly on that lifestyle...

My wife being a housewife, basically caters to me just like I want....... And I love it.


I am a simple man, and the simple life is much easier.
