Firefox is my browser of choice. Misspell something, and you get a red line underlining the word. A right click on the word will bring up a list of potential correct words.

I don't spell everything correctly on the first try. That spell checker saves me regularly. Other times, I'll type what I know is a mangled word into my Google search bar, and Google will say "did you mean...?"

I might try Firefox. My Norton is expired and IIRC Firefox has virus protection or Malware protection of some sort.

Not without add-ons, but I'm sure there are things you can add. I currently run AVG Antivirus, and I do an occasional scan with Malwarebytes and Spybot.
I think AVG has add-ons for Firefox, as well as other browsers... but I disabled them.

I use Google Chrome and Microsoft Security Essentials for virus protection.

With Chrome, if a tab acts up, its nuked so that it does not take out your whole browser.

Besides now you can sign into the browser and it syncs across multiple devices.

                        Love it!

I find google chrome is the best. try that and a virus protection software called Avast! there free version is better than avg's and Avast! is lighter on system resources. for my laptop it was my virus software of choice and now I use it on my desktop as well

Avast caused nothing but problems on my computer. Anytime it detected a virus, I still got infected... it was like a security guard that sits there and says "yo, some dude with a gun just ran past me!"

orly? I have never had that problem. and I go to a lot of risky sites. I have used both avg and avast. I like the sandbox feature avast offers. how long ago did you use it? it is true the did suck coming out of the gate but I have yet to have a problem with them since they did some major updates
