    1/8 mile racing

I live in texas and from october to about april is the best weather to race here (dallas), so thats when the 1/4 strip closes. The closest strip to me (mesquite) is in kennedale 40 miles away. ENNIS closes for winter.

What could I gauge from 1/8 drag strip puills?

0-60 times? learning 1-2-3 gear shifting?

I don't think you would even get to 3rd gear in a stock cb honestly. But you could get your launches down, and learn your cars power band better as well. Oh and have tons of fun!!!

There is a conversion table on the web that will tell you how to determine 1/4 mile times by your 1/8 mile time. Honestly I like 1/8 mile tracks.I have one 5 mins from my house.

A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.

Since street grudge racing is so big around here, almost all the cars are set up for 1/8th racing. Even at the drag strip, the big money races are run on the 1/8th. Guess its just easier to find a 1/8th mile straight away then 1/4

I'm fortunate to have two 1/4 mile tracks near me. Never even saw an 1/8th mile track. I don't really care for the 1/8th. I think it pretty much screws anyone with a high-revving small displacement engine, or a large turbo. I understand that it's probably easier to find space for one, and probably less of an insurance liability (since the cars aren't going as fast as in a 1/4 mile), but to me that's no fun!

8th miles is all i've got unless i want to drive 3hour's. I see it as most races are won by the 8th usually.

It's all in good fun, but i've seen 6sec hondas and 4-5 sec rwd setup's at 100mph+ that's getting it reguardless of length.

Yeah, my CB can't even break into the 90s in the quarter mile!

you must eat ass at racing cause for some one to have a traction system and a h22 in a cb7 you should be able to pull 15.5- 16 sec 1/4 mile. Unless attitude and weather are shitty in your area.

90mph trap is high 14 to low 15 territory.

                    '93CB7Ex i guess you didn't hook? 70mph is 9 capable in the 8th hell my old 375k eg ex ran a 10.4 at 64mph.

There is alot of 15sec h22 swapped cb's. Track prep is one of the biggest factors aswell as a driver mod.

yes, track prep is where its at. the track here is usually pretty good.

the 1/8th mile track i used to at, it was ok. some nights it was awesome, others it was terrible.

I don't know about the slower part, boss man's brother unlaw traps 200+mph and mid 3's in the 1/8th. He constantly is upping his world record as the fastest power glide car in the world. He usually runs at darlingron, which is 1/4 mile, but only races the 1/8th, same at Rockingham.
