I only buy Vtech brand phones for the house, my mom does too. I mean they offer a ton of features and when they do break, it's cheap enough to just throw away and buy a whole new unit. Right now we have one of those systems where the base unit is upstairs and then there are two satellite unites placed conveniently around the house. From each of the satellite units, we can access the answering machine feature which is cool as hell because i don't like going all the way to my mom's room to listen to any missed calls.

maybe thats what they mean? i mean we pretty much do the same shit with our cars, something breaks just run to the JY and get a replacement for cheap.
