So there was this girl that i liked at my last place of work, nearly asked her out but another guy beat me to the punch. Anyhow, when they were dating she ended up getting pregnant with twins and they got married. Fast forward to today, i'm on Facebook and i see that she changed her status from married to single; the same with the guy. Boy is that going to suck for that guy having to pay child support for the next sixteen years; that could have been me. Glad i kept my penis in my pants back then.

I really feel bad for the guy though. It's not like he's a dbag or anything and he takes really good care of his two girls. He doesn't go out drinking, he has a job albeit it doesn't pay much but its enough to provide a roof and food for his family but he is always there for his girls.Comment

Not necessarily. Perhaps things between you and her wouldn't have lasted long enough to have kids. Or perhaps they could have and if you did have kids, you would've stayed together forever.

That's the problem with the monogamous dynamic. As a species, being monogamous isn't in our nature. You select a viable mate, breed, and move on. This whole, "marriage/there's only one for me" thing fucks the whole thing up.
Relationships can fail at anytime. Couples married for 20+ years with a couple kids fail. One or both persons gets stale and tired of the same thing with the same person. Some people, I think, are born to be relatively monogamous. Or they're okay with the same thing day in and day out. Others don't like being committed, if not for a long period of time, then at all.
That's why I believe in spending an exorbitant amount of time with someone before delving into a fully, life long commitment. Do many things together. If you can spend a number of years and go different places then I think you're ready to commit.

Why would he have to pay child support?
He can go for full custody, or take the kids 50% of the time.
Just saying - Just because a couple split, doesn't instantly mean the guy has to pay.

I dated a girl for three months.
She got prego, had my wonderful son Noah.
Even let it fly when I found out she was "talking" to another guy.
Came to home to her leaving, pushed her back in the door.
Got a domestic and child endagerment because she was holding my son.
2 years of informal probation, and child support as well as a 5 year no contact order, bep classes, jail time, and fines.
