Proper way to chain Engine for install

What's the proper way to prep the engine and trans together with a chain or strap??

That angle.. its important. How do you get it. I helped my cuzin install his, and he didn't listen to me. He just had the engine and trans evenly leveled on the chain for install.. and wat happens. It didn't want to go in. You just can't drop a engine in that's leveled. So we did it his way/ the hard way. Got done but took a while..

question is, how do you get that pitch, that angle like this > /. Trans in first, rear mount, driver mount, then front mount.

Basicly leave more chain on the tranny side than the driver side. Let the tranny angel down some and use a little elbow grease to shift it as the rest of the motor lowers in. Might need to use a crow bar to shift it around a little but dont let it get wedged in.

It has been a couple of years since I have done one myself so it is hard to explain but if you put me n front of one I can do it without thinking lol.

Yeah you want slack on the tranny side and you might have to muscle it down a little. now of course if you had the money to get the proper tools there is an attachment called a load balancer I believe ....

Yeah here is one on ebay ...

Honestly though you dont need it you just need to find the right slack on the tranny side for it to angle in.

here are some pics of when i pulled my motor

i used the alternator bracket for a mounting point, i believe the bolt for the motor mount on the driver side, a bolt for the tranny near the starter and the little loop on the tranny its been a couple years since i pulled it so a little rusty on it
