Car ideas.

I'm now working my first "big boy" job. I'm in management at a major casino. I do a lot of driving and the cb just isn't cutting it. I need something with a little more boss presence and, a bit more class. (Not all my bosses drive amgs). I love my accord and will keep it. I have a price range of 6k-ish. No payments. Must be eco friendly, decently quick and be comfortable. Maintenance and price to fix are not a issue. Please give me some ideas.

decently quick, boss image, $6k or less, and eco friendly? Thats gonna be a little hard to do. But its possible...

For the boss image thing, big shots or big wigs (what ever you want to call them) dont care about eco friendly...

I had a 98 Cadillac Catera that fits the criteria perfectly. However, that was the 2nd worst car I ever owned, other than my 91 Jetta, taking the crown for that.

I'm looking for sedan. Leather if possible. Nothing bigger then a v6. Decently quick to me is 17s I had a e36 that ran 13s. I thought about getting another m3, just testing waters.

I just want my cb to be a weekend car. Keep low miles on the h and have a dependable car thats comfortable enough to drive without looking like I'm a child in my parents car.

My best friend in HS had a dark green Catera. Its not very eco friendly.

3.0l 6 cylinder that gets 16 city and 22 highway. There are full size pickup trucks that get 22mpg highway.

If you can find an 2005 2006 Chrysler 300 with the 2.7l it gets 18mpg city and 26mpg highway.

Even the 3.5l which is pretty common gets 17 city and 25 highway.

And i think they pull a low 16 or high 15 IIRC.

If you dont like the looks of the 300 go for the Charger. If you dont like the Charger eather than find something else.

I do not need a large car. I just need something softer then my accord. This is my list
1) a4
2) e36, e46 325, 323, 328
3) any acura
4) if possible a decent lexus

bro, you don't want anything to do with a bmw or audi s4.

see if you can find an is300 for the price range, you can probably only afford the automatic. the stick shifts retail more.

My first build was a bmw... I do like the is300. Probably the best looking car lexus made.

The Chrysler 300 is actually a pretty decent car, and this is coming from someone that hates Chrysler.

The Chrysler 300, Cadillac CTS, and Lincoln LS can be found with small-ish V6s (and manual transmissions for some.) that will be reasonably efficient if driven with a light foot. They will be cheaper than an import, both to purchase and to repair, and all 3 give off a reasonable image of class.

And older German car that you find for 6k is going to show its age, and it'll likely need some repair. If you blow your wad on such a car, it'll be parked while you drive the CB for a few weeks as you wait for the money to repair it! Or, you'll have a broken-down jalopy luxury car, and that just makes you look irresponsible.

Acura, Lexus, and Infiniti might have something for you... and they'd be a bit more reasonable to repair than a German car (especially Acura, which shares most of its expensive components with cheaper Hondas.) Still, they all hold their value quite well, and you'll end up getting an older model that shows its age.

I'd stay away from the Integra/RSX, as they're not "classy" cars (I mean, they are... but I don't think they fit the look you're going for.) The TL, CL, and RL are all nice, though I find them pretty uninspiring. And for 6k, you'll probably find a beat-up model.
Lexus, 6k is probably going to get you a 90s GS, LS, or SC... maybe an IS. Most likely, an ES. I personally have no respect for the rebadged Camry.
Infiniti, I don't think you'll find anything worth owning for 6k. The G35 is too new, so you'd end up with a beat up one for that price. The G20 is quite dated. The M, J, and Q... all pretty forgettable cars.



I honestly say go American. You'll get a fresher model in better condition due to the lower resale value of American cars. Any of the 3 I listed in the beginning of this post should be fairly inexpensive to fix, as they share many things with lesser models of the parent brand.


Another option would be non-German Euros... Volvo and Saab, mainly. The ones you'll be affording will be largely GM and Ford based (again, like the American cars, cheaper repairs when shared parts are involved.) They're not terribly impressive vehicles, but they're not unimpressive, either. Turbo models do exist, as do AWD... and I believe some are manual.

I might settle for a rsx. What volvo would you suggest?
