    Does anyone here work for a GM dealership?

    I'm looking for some replacement FE4 shocks for my 06 CTS-V. It seems replacement suspension components aren't as readily available as they are for our old Hondas! The FE4 is the "granny shock". Not the one the enthusiasts want (that's the FG2, the more sport-oriented shock.) My front end seems a bit clunky, and I don't like it.

    Anyway, I'm having a tough time finding replacements. I haven't called a dealership yet. Online searching has led me to a $1000 kit (that appears to be the FG2, not the FE4), and some replacements that look to be $100 each (for the fronts... the rear is Nivomat self-leveling stuff, and they're like $400 each!)


    I'm hoping someone on here works for a GM dealership, and can get me an inside line on shock pricing. I'd like to know what they're really worth, so I know the general price range I'm looking at!

    New car new prices I think that's another reason why I in a way want to go back to a honda it's much cheaper. Either that or with the evo I need to find newer contacts to get more parts. Hey deev have you tried a forum for the caddy? perhaps someone can give you more insight there or perhaps there is a vendor on there?

        I'm on both of those. The first one is like honda-tech, but at least it's active. Not bad, but there's a whole lot of fuzzy information floating around. Only a handful of people really seem to know what they're talking about.
        The second one is dead. I joined that one first, since it's CTS-V specific... but it's not active at all, sadly.

        There are plenty of aftermarket options, but I'm looking to restore it to stock, not modify it. Apparently my options are limited there! I could just go to a dealership, which is probably what I'll end up doing, but I want an honest perspective on the price. I know some dealers can REALLY mark stuff up, and I assume Cadillac markups could very well be some of the worst!

                    Taken from cadillacfaq.com:
                    There are two levels of suspension available on the CTS-V. The "stock" suspension is the FE4. The part numbers are:
                    FE4 front shock = 25772236
                    FE4 rear shock = 25752922

                    The "optional" suspension is the FG2 suspension. The part Numbers are:
                    The front FG2 shocks are 88962952.
                    The rear FG2 shocks are 88962954.

                      the front FE4 shock absorbers have a list price of $175.22 for the "kit" and their price online is $103.70

                      their part # is **150079, and yes the asteriks are there
