if they took frozen pizzas and pasta sauce, you can tell that they're amateurs. No one professional wastes that much time going through people's refrigerators. They will get caught sooner or later if they keep doing stuff like this.

      This!

Did you have renters insurance? I know it sucks but if you have good home owners they will cover you very good and you will be able to get everything back or upgrade even.

Costco sells this set up for $300 that comes with 4 cameras, and it has a phone app so you can view the camera's live from anywhere.

Anyone has tried or heard anything about the Logitech system? http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam...master-systems

They look like they are quality too.

I love checking out security cam vids online, often they are funny or shocking when you see how ballsy people can be when they think they aren't being watched.

I think wired is a more secure system than wifi. Does anyone have experience with wifi?

This is what I'm hoping happens. Smash and grab, whatever, but taking fucking food??

Homeowners will cover it, but the lady I spoke to on the phone about all this was a complete non-compassionate ass. So tomorrow morning I'm calling and asking for a manager to speak about how to properly treat people in distress.

Since you know my house and the area they got into, then you can probably figure out where I will put the cameras. Apparently the Logitech system does use your existing electrical wiring to send signals back to the router, etc. Really neat setup, but damn is it expensive! And I don't see a mention of a mobile app either. I need that....as you know.

I was reading about this one, but it looks like its connected through your computer. I wouldn't want to leave my computer on all the time and then there are those times when you loose internet service or the computer crashes..etc.

This pisses me off to the core!, someone broke into my house by shoving a flat metal object in between the door handle and the wood frame opening the door, WHILE I WAS IN THE FREAKEN SHOWER! the door is right next to the shower! they noticed someone was home I heard running I got out of the shower and the door was just open and frame showed signs of forced entry.

                    since then

I have a surveillance system, it records on a DVR, and saves it online to view from an iphone/ android/ PC or stream live, and alerts my phone of any intruders.

And purchased a M14 rifle, I wasn't frightened just pissed off that they ran away. I'm in the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Academy...

If you're gonna get a weapon just get a rifle, high accuracy and better range, shotguns are messy(remember this is your home you don't want a bunch of holes in your walls.) and you well personally I would not kill someone breaking in my house trying to make a quick buck. Just immobilize them if they try to run away...

The only thing i'd be worried about the rifle is over penetrating the walls and hitting a neighbor. With the shotgun though, you get a wide blast and shorter range. I hate most of my neighbors anyhow so i could care less about them that and my house is pretty far from my closest neighbor.

That makes me wonder, can civilians buy beanbag ammo for shotguns? You could shoot someone with one of those and it'd probably knock them on their ass. The other thing is that you won't have to spend time in court trying to say you killed the guy in self defense.

yea that would be a good thing if civilians can buy beanbag ammo for shotguns that way they don't have to fight it in court because you killed the guy in self defense.

Would i be in the wrong if i shot a guy in the gut with a bean bag from a shot gun and while he is down, i shot him again or several times more before the cops got there?

hahah. well i was searching online, everyone was regardless if your fired lethal or non lethal rounds, so long as you point a gun at someone there is a possibility of you being charged for something.
