I come home to my house broken into

As I pull into my driveway I notice that my cb7 seems to be sitting further back then where I parked it. As I get out of my work car, I walk towards to the passenger side of the CB and see that the glovebox is opened with all its' contents on the floor. The sunshade sits in the backseat instead of up in the windshield. I look over towards my shed and notice that the pad lock is missing so I decide to look thru the shed. Initially, everything looks to still be in there....except for my two car jacks. At this point the "oh shit, someone broke into my house" feeling hits. I walk back to the CB7 towards the drive side, but see my valet key dangling inside the keyhole.

I then peer inside to my den from the outside window and notice my computer, monitor, speakers, keyboard, and mouse are all gone. I walk around further to the kitchen sliding glass door to only find two massive piles of glass; one inside and one outside along with ALL my cabinets open. At this point I call the police as fear sets in incase someone is still in there.

The officer shows up (rather quickly AND she's cute!) and does a walk thru to make sure the house is clear. When she comes back outside, she says "all clear, but to warn you, they went thru everything....everything". We wait for CSI to show up before I can walk thru, but I give her all the general information. As we follow CSI thru the house I notice the following things missing:

    1. 46" Panasonic Plasma Tv
    2. PS3
    3. Home stereo
    4. My recently built computer (all Topgear episodes, music, TAX INFORMATION, and some porn, etc.)
    5. ALL OF MY TOOLS....ALLLLLL OF THEM! All of my power tools were Dewalt high quality stuff....gone...hand tools...etc.
    6. Gym bag
    7. $200 worth of cash

When I get upstairs to the bedrooms I find this:

    1. They went thru all my clothes and threw them on the floor
    2. Stole blank checks
    3. Stole 2 old cell phones
    4. Emptied my gym bag and stole the bag itself
    5. Removed clothes from my closet and threw on the floor
    6. Went thry my bathroom drawers and left them open

The positives; I'm ok and so is my doggy. 95% of what I've worked for and saved for is gone. I do things right people; I work hard, save up, don't bother people, and help others. I've been violated, stole from, abused, and taken advantage of. Why?

I don't even want to stay at my house for a while...MY HOUSE! I've busted my ASS fixing it up, to make it nice and ready to sell...something I've proud of.

I still have my CB7 though, as they didn't molest her. She fought back....some how.

Just needed to vent tonight. Watch your shit folks!

Wow that shit is really terrible.Sorry for the lost of your posessions but at least you are ok and able to work another day for those things.

I hate thieves.I hope the cops catch them quick. They were probably scoping out your house for a bit before they went in for the kill.People like this should be strung by their nuts and struck in the head with a spiked bat.

Holy crap dude. They didn't take anything from your car though? your the only one who lives there? at least your safe but man I've been stolen from twice in my neighborhood nothing big at all, one was from my work truck. someone stole a pool pole while I was at work from my work truck but I was near where I live now. I stole it back a few weeks later I saw it across the street a few houses down on the front porch! Then someone took a domo magnet off my car. People can't leave things alone. Dont trust anyone its sad but its what it comes down to. Probly just some weak teenagers that are too lazy to work for anything. Im 20 now but I've been working 40+ hours a week since I was 17. This makes me want to get a gun more.

        You dont have neighbors?

Sorry to hear about your house man but keep an eye on CL for your tools to show up. You know some asshat is going to try to unload them on their for cheap or drive around to known areas where there are construction going on.

Ever been at a light and 2 guys in a van ask you if you want to buy home theatre speakers? Happened to me twice. Had a backstage pass deal around his neck too. Shady buisness that. both times it happened to me in roseville which is a nicer area. Those 2 guys are probly from where I live now.

Sorry to hear that, you did the smart thing and let a officer clear your house before you went in. But to be honest it's a who done it report unless they left some form of evidence that can be traced to them it's going to be hard to catch them. This is where you can be proactive and like some people have said look on cl, eBay, local yard sales for your stuff to start poping up if the stuff had any identifying marks like scratches name engraved wear and tear that can help catch the person. Also if you have home insurance they can pay for your stuff. Good luck hope they catch the thieves

Thanks for the support guys, I really do appreciate it!

The officer talked to my neighbors to see if they heard or saw anything, but no one did. The CB7 doesn't have any damage, except for the fact it was moved about 15 feet back from it's original location in the driveway. They were inside of it by use of the spare key that was inside the house.

Good call on looking on CL for my stuff. The dusted for prints all over the house, but the CSI guy did say he got some good prints. Let's hope that helps. Since the dollar amount of stuff stolen was pretty large, a detective will be assigned the case.

OP: You said your dog was ok. Does he not bark? Here's my thought, 9 times out of 10 if someone hears a dog then they decide it's not the right house to rob. I wouldn't put it past someone you've seen before, maybe a friend's friend, hell maybe even a friend. Piss anyone off lately?

As annoying as it is, I appreciate my dogs being vocal whenever they hear noises.

Yea your story is apples and oranges in comparison, you had stuff out in the open, they broke into his house and stole things of value. Not a pool pole and a car magnet.

And I didn't think about this. Where was your dog when you found it? he couldve just been scared hiding under a bed or something. Our the theives couldve just distracted him with food or something.

they just broke in through the back sliding glass door?

Exactly how I feel bro. This past thanksgiving I came home from school to the door wide open with no one home. My TV was missing, PS3, my brother's camera, MP3 players, fake jewelry. Luckily none of my mom's information was taken and neither was our desktop computer. We dealt with petty thieves at best.

But I know that feeling, lost your peace of mind. Lost sense of security and how you don't even want to stay in your "home."

It sucks when good people have bad things happen to them.

                      fuck thieves.

Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully the police find the people responsible and hopefully insurance will cover some of what was lost.

How does no one notice people taking out that much stuff? Do you have neighbors pretty close by?

I had my car broken into at work(a grocery store) it was busy and they got some prints, several years later they caught the guy stealing somewhere else. Damn it felt good!

I agree with someone else who said it might be someone you know, at the same time I know that if some stranger brings my dogs food they will chill the hell down and not make a peep.

Wow my blood is boiling and I don't even know you.

Im a new house owner and I can't even imagine what I'd do or feel.

                            fucking crazy.

But Im sure I would feel so violated that I wouldn't even want to live here anymore and that is not fair.

                            People really fucking suck.

Hopefully you can recover your losses and build it back better.

                            Did you have an alarm?

First thing I did was have my buddy who works for an alarm company hook my shit up right.

                            I really need a dog and a 9mm.

Just the bark of a dog does wonders. I have two a tiny Morkie that yaps (not intimdating at all) and a golden retriever that has a nice deep big dog sound (he's a little bitch and runs from his own shadow). The little one is the aggressor but it's the goldens bark that intimidates if you don't know him.

Don't get a 9mm, they just slow people down nowadays. Get a .45, and knock em down.

Your best bet for home security though would be a dog and a Mossberg 500 JIC II. It's a nice compact shotgun that you can hold and pivot in a hallway very easily and you don't have to worry about putting a bullet through your house and your neighbors.
