    Thinking about trading?

So some friends of mine have been saying i should trade my cb7 for a 5 speed one instead of converting it to 5 speed, the thought of this has gone through my head for quite some time now. My car has no problems at all mechanically, nothing. It has 276k miles on it, runs perfectly and has a lot of things replaced, rack and pinion, tie rods, axels, motor mounts, hoses, ect. Has a K&N on stock tube, no name muffler that sounds nice, speakers all around ebay visors and AJP coilover sleeves on oem replacement struts. The only bads about it are the paint and the rear passenger window doesnt roll up or down. Other than that its great, ABS works and cruise control is a dream. I plan on building a cb no matter what. i dont want a civic or integra opr anything else. I'm going to build a CB. If i trade it would be for an EX model, clean body/no rust anywhere, any body style is fine but I'm leaning towards a wagon cuz there are so few. If not then a coupe or sedan would be fine. If i were to trade I would ask for a bone stock, no mods at all ex, i keep my wheels and some cash on his side. I'm still deciding on the cash on top part. I'm just looking for some suggestions on what would be most reasonable to do. I work at del taco so it's not a high paying job so a 5 speed swap would take a while to get. If you want to know more about my cb7 my sig links to my MRT. I'm by no means in a hurry to do this by the way, thanks everyone

I'd just keep what you have. You can never buy yourself another first car again.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking and considering a lot too. I know builds wont happen in a matter of months and it'll take years to get what i want to end with.. That is the biggest thing telling me not to trade.

I agree with Tippey. I've owned another CB... and while I liked it, it didn't feel like MY CB.

Convert to manual, replace your unsafe suspension, and get a nice paintjob (I've actually liked my Maaco paintjobs... not perfect, but I can't maintain an expensive paintjob anyway, so I don't bother!)

that is why my cb is on its 4th engine and 2nd tranny, because it is MY CB

that is why i hold onto my 78 Malibu sedan, i learned to drive in it, my baby sister was driven to the hospital in it the night she was born and alot of other firsts

Yeah the last 2 things u said deev i plan on getting done first this summer, then save for the 5 speed swap and F20B swap at the same time probably. Thats why i post on this site first because a lot of members have been in this position and have gone both ways with it too. Thanks everyone!!

I highly doubt anybody would give you money on top if they were to trade you a stock EX for yours. An EX has everything yours has plus a sun roof and an a6. also your is modified which makes it worth less especially since they will either have to replace those struts if they plan on keeping those ebay coilover sleeves or just go back to stock suspension(what i would do personally) and they would have to get a paintjob at least on the hood and truck for it to look half decent. Just my .2

I would take insurance off the cb once its ready to be swapped and i have enough money to buy a daily and swap my cb7. The cb7 will be a drag car, so i wont insure it.

Slap a cheap Maaco/Scheib paintjob on it, and it'll fetch more. Idiots like shiny things.

A drag car, though? There have been some impressive CB drag cars, but I feel we have a good suspension... worth modifying for the car to be used in more interesting forms of racing. The car is pretty heavy, meaning drag and autocross have it at a disadvantage. But it has a good deal of potential on a road course. Weighs about as much as many more modern cars, like the Civic... I plan on road-racing mine, and that's the logic I used to arrive at that decision. Plus... turning is cool!

need to get me a Hoda logo'd baseball cap because the Hyundai dealership where we get the Elantra serviced gave me a nice cap but I can't wear it in my cb, that would not be right

Yeah i don't plan on driving it so no point in having insurance on a car that won't even be legal to register after i can actually drive it haha, I decided drag because the F20B is turbo friendly and personally if i wanted to make an autocross car i would rather NA it so there isnt the worry about the turbo maintenance on top of the others. I honestly havent thought or looked into road racing though, that may be a better option..
