when I am in a what's the point moment I just think of the kind of looks I am going to get when the kids hear a skyline and only see an accord then try to put 2+2 together, and the support from this board, and all those haters out there, I have been mainly driven by them lol, I think to myself prove them wrong

I think the feel of driving a 250-300hp (or more?) RWD CB7 with one of the most revered turbo I6 engines under the hood will be a good inspiration as well!

        So true!

I'm proud that you even took the initiative. That was instant gratification right there for me. Oh, and of course, I'm still following your progress. It's motivation.

BTW, you sound like Riley Freeman.

Fellow CB brethern/sistren love is also motivation as shown in the above paragraph.

Id guess if I worked at one of the " primere"
Shops, where the customer drops off the car and gives you a list of wants, and you use your own creativity to exceed their wants, it probably be pleasurable. I run a good shop, but I spend more time talking to broke idiots and fixing what they or some fly by night hack job than actual custom work. So it gets frustrating. When they come in and ask a price, then tell me iam to high, they can get it done cheaper....I usually reply " when they fuck it up, iam charge the shit out of you to fix it" and it normally happens. I've got a 07 impala on the rack right now with a botched strut lift. And I told this person exactly that last week

But the tools are nice. There's many times we will just be talking
And come up with a crazy idea or see something cool and just build it. Having a plasma table in the garage kicks ass

I get my inspiration just by looking at threads. I can't loose this car no matter how much I get sick of it.

And one of the huge perks is parts find you. If someone stops in and the have or had a cb, they usually ask who's car is out side. Then they will sell/ or give you their old stuff. I bought my last cb 5sp coupe like that. Fresh paint, clean car. Bad main relay. Dude got tired of dumping money in it and bought another car, wanted it out his yard. $200 for the car, $60 to fix it. A se of lay around 17in wheels and I sold it for $2500 a week later. Our shop will buy any complete car that is under $300 sight unseen no matter the condition. It's under scrap value. So you'll at least make a few bucks off it, might find a gem

My motivation comes mostly from here. Lots of great ideas from great people floating around.

Of course, I can think for myself too, and my mind is most of my inspiration because I'm always thinking "what else can I do?"

I eat, sleep, shit and breathe cars. I swear I think about cars more than sex.

For me, my inspiration is in knowing that I built it and didn't buy it. For me I've always been into building up cars and seeing how much better you can make them. For me, my CB7 is a project car but one that I have enjoyed over the last year and a bit now. Yes it might not be the fastest or best handling, but it is something I am proud of and you just can't get that from buying a new car. A new car can be exciting but with newer cars, you just don't get that sense of having done it yourself. Having met all the people along the way that have helped you fix, replace or just improve your ride can also be the greatest gift of building up a car as you make new friends and learn new things.

Summed it up very well, and the same way I feel.

The whole new car thing is great, but it wears off quickly. Having something unique is more important to me, as is the improvement aspect that you mentioned.

i normally don't care what other people think but they keep saying, "Dude thats a sick corrado."

it keeps me interested and when i look at done up cars, it motivates me to try and get to a show status stage without breaking the bank.

also try and stay away from the project months at a time. my car was stored away since september so ive accumulated some parts already.

My motivation comes from talking to people on this forum who can appreciate the work put into my cb. It sounds shallow, but when people with dope cb's appreciate the work I put in, it motivates me to keep going. Also I just like the way the 4th gen looks, clean and simple.

Of all the cars I've owned (currently about 32), my little lime green B2200 and my current coupe are the only ones I've ever had where people have given me thumbs up, complements in person and actually take notice to the vehicle.

It's nice, but I build the vehicle for me to enjoy. That's great if other people think the same. Most of the time I'm quite ignorant towards others' vehicles. Many people have no clue when it comes to building a car. They think every part from the catalog is the coolest thing ever, or the show car gone wrong look is awesome.

Then there's guys like me, and many others on this forum who quietly sit back, show up in a super clean, subtly modded car that probably turns more heads and gets more attention than rice boy with his lambo doors, 20s, big stereo and flashy paint. It's the point of "doing it right" that inspires me.

most of my inspiration has been my involvement in the scene and the coverage ive done of some of the nicest hondas out there.

currently my largest driving force is going to trackdays and doing ride alongs. soon my car will be done and prepped for the track... the car has done its share of daily driving and is past that point in its life cycle in my eyes.
