Linking Shutterfly images without white bars

As some of you may have noticed I seem to be incapable of posting pictures without white bars on every single picture I post. I originally just thought it was my iPhone but it seems that it happens with photos I get on the internet as well. Here is my classifieds thread so that you can see what I'm talking about.

Is this purely an issue of needing to resize pictures or do I need to find another image host?

Is this an easy fix? It's always bugged me because it's something that even the most beginner users on the site have been able to master and I have not.

Edit* Come to think of it, even if there were bars you may not be able to tell on that Shutterfly screenshot because it would be white bars on a white background, but trust me, they're not there.

I can't imagine that the fact I'm using Shutterfly is the main issue. Maybe you're right though. That's going to be a lot of work swapping them over and redoing the picture links in all of my threads.
