    Re-enlisted today for 6 more years, made E-5, and got to hold a big check for $69,547.19.

              oh, thats a bonus I got for re-enlisting. its not my paycheck. As an E-5, after its all said and done, I take home about 44k a year

                Do you have military housing and family healthcare provided? If so, that's a pretty damn good deal!

                And thank you for your service... it's guys like you that keep guys like me out of the military!

                          E-5 is equivalent to what grade in the USAF?

                          my dad was a stripe or two above MSGT, I can't remember which

                          thank you for your service so we can be what we want to be and be free doing it !!

                            thanks guys! i appreciate the kind words.
                            deev, healthcare is provided, and housing is available. My wife and I choose to live out in town though, because we have 2 big dogs (st. bernard/anatolian Shepard mix and a lab mix), and the yards in base housing are pretty tiny.

                            e-5 for air force is staff sargent, and in the navy is petty officer 2nd class. No sailor outfit for the baby yet, we still haven't found out if its a girl or boy. Unfortunately I'll be at sea when my wife finds out, and I probably won't know for a couple months afterwards, but oh well. I'd just as soon have it be a surprise, but apparently thats just not practical (according to my wife haha)

                              whats your rate? As i see you are on a sub base i am guessing some kind of nuke? I am an AWF2 i will be re-enlisting next year for 6 years as well still havent heard if im getting a SRB yet or not. Congrats on the nice pretty penny
