Bought New Desktop

It was long over due. It's nothing fancy, but I like it. Had it for about a month and a half now. It ran the Diablo III beta just fine, with everything on high settings, so I am ready for May 15th when the full game releases.

$400 for the computer, and $100 for the monitor (it was on sale). I am completely aware that I could have went on Newegg and bought a much better set up had I wanted to build one myself, but I just splurged and bought an already built set up. Kinda wanted a more plug and play anyways.

Later when I make it 3.0 GHz, with a better graphics card, I'll be set for awhile. In it's current state, it gets the job done.

P.S. I upgraded from a 6 year old laptop, which was like a 1.3 Ghz, with a gig of RAM. So, this is more than enough for the type of stuff I do on my computer. Haha.

A friend of mne bought one last month so he could play BF3. As soon as we took it out of the box we opened the case and added a 420watt PSU and an EVGA 560Ti.

Plays BF3 on high without a problem.

Not sure what your plans as far as useage for it are but grats on your new desktop.

Edit - BE SURE WHEN YOU UPGRADE THE VIDEO CARD TO UPGRADE THE PSU ALSO! The stock PSU can't handle prolonged use if you add a better video card.

Edit #2 - LOL I really should read posts more carefully the first time through. I am also looking forward to D3 on the 15th. Have the Annual pass digital copy plus 2 collectors editions preordered. I will be upgrading my digital copy to a CE and my wife has the other CE.

I've heard good things about Acers. So I went with an already built rig. I didn't build it myself. My buddy has a six core rig that he built himself, but he runs a crap load of programs, and forgets to close things, so it's more ideal for him.

You know, my old laptop is a Compaq (pretty much an HP), that I've had since 2006, so I can honestly say that HP makes some quality stuff.

I've been very happy with this PC. It's been reformatted 3 times. I've had Windows XP Home, Vista and now Vista Home or something on it. 17" LG LCD monitor. It all works, it all does what I need it to do. I don't game on it. I just use it for internet and file storage. No need to upgrade to something new.

I like your desk and setup. Clean and simple.

Yeah. I mainly got my new desktop because I was using my laptop as my primary computer, and it was just becoming too slow for the things I wanted to do. Plus, I missed having a desktop.

So now, I can use my laptop for more simple things, and use it when I'm on the go. And my desktop will be here for more complex things. Oh, and Diablo III of course! Haha.

I've always been into the more simple look, and have ALWAYS been a tidy person. Here's a video of my room I took about three months ago. You can see how I had my laptop set up. And yes, I collect video games. ALOT of them. Haha.
