First 2 years of college I was doing automotive. Finally came to the realization that this wasn't the ideal field for me and chose to go into health care.

Flash forward to 2012, I'm now 8 credit hours away from being done with the prerequisites for the BS in Nursing Program. Ultimate goal is to attain my nurse practitioner licence and work for a branch of the army overseas.

Got a full time job the day after I graduated last week at a company called ECOtality. I'm stoked to be working there, testing all kinds of hybrid/electric cars

I can tell you that many people, myself included, pick majors based on what they are interested in or like. And that's nice and all, but me and many others found themselves not at all enthusiastic with their major when it came close to graduating ( to the point of wanting to switch majors or scrap it all together). A good reason for that is based on job availability and salary in that particular field, which can really get you down if it isn't good. I think I had 2 or 3 semesters left to go when I felt I had picked the wrong major, and I almost changed it. A lot of people pick their major without having any idea what type of jobs they will qualify for when they finish school. So do your research ahead of time and avoid the disappointment.

I am well clear of all Air Transport Pilot minimums except cross-country, which I should have shortly.

I have also been dabbling in aerobatics and basic aerobatic instruction over the last year.
Awesome, are you going to pursue a career with the major airlines eventually? I got my private pilot cert a year ago. Flying for me is a hobby and I've no intentions of getting more ratings, but I would love to learn to fly a tail dragger (which my school has none of) and I want to build an RV someday.

Stayed 5 years in high school to further my education. Went to a tech school for 4 years and passed 1 class because of the laws of the fraternity tri tappa keg. I learned my trade hands on. My dad had a car restoration shop growing up, and I got my first pay check from it when I was 13. Been making a living installing/ customizing cars ever since

Haven't entirely decided yet. I met the minimums for the airlines almost 2 years ago, but am not really sure that I want to go that route. It isn't as cool as it used to be, although there are certain airlines I would like to end up working for. I have also thought about air ambulance, but those are rare jobs for fixed wing guys. Right now, I am still pretty well enjoying instructing, so I am not necessarily in a hurry to leave my job. Been doing that for about 5 years now.

Tail draggers are a LOT of fun, but let me tell you, they keep you on your toes. You gain a whole new respect for crosswind correction and ground handling technique, because as soon as the mains touch the ground, they want to start driving backwards. Add in a good crosswind, and it gets really fun, really fast. I got my tailwheel in an American Champion 8KCAB Super Decathalon, which is also the plane we use for our upset recovery/aerobatic stuff. I definitely want to figure out a way to get hooked up with an aerobatic instructor as that is definitely an avenue I would like to pursue more .

I find it interesting for automotive forum goers to have alot of individuals with post vocational degrees.. Especially in auto-tech. It's pretty common here and seems like a trend in other automotive forums I use(corvette and 240Sx). The vocational guys and girls seem to be the base of forums because of their knowledge in cars.

I myself have a BA in industrial design.

Cb7tuner has a pretty damn diverse crowd.. in NorCal, our meets are like a g8 summit(which we have a doctorate member), lol.
