Plans to destroy a pedophile, need feedback

A former friend of mine (who lied to EVERYONE about his identity) was a convicted sex offender. He was convicted of statutory rape, involving a girl under the age of 16. He was 20 at the time. He wasn't a rapist, and not violent, but he was tried and convicted, and forever bears that sex offender title.

While he still had us all fooled, he moved into a new apartment with another friend of mine. That apartment was near a school. We all learned his real identity and history when he got arrested for living too close to that school.



So yes, if the sex offender laws are the same in your area as they are in Philadelphia, and his house in undeniably too close to the school (I believe it's 1000 feet from the school ZONE, not just the school building... but I don't know for certain) then the easiest way to make his life difficult would be to alert the authorities.

You could also casually, anonymously plant the seed of suspicion with the members of the community, especially the PTA of the school he lives near. Don't even mention names. Just get ONE person to be curious enough to look up local sex offenders, and they should find the record of him. It's not very difficult to find the records (and you could always give a little nudge...)
If you can't be tied directly to anything that happens, then you can't really be blamed at all for any sort of character defamation or harassment.

All you need to do is cause a bit of community outrage, and nature will take its course. Chances are good that the community will organize a witch hunt and run the guy out of town. Or the police will. In any case, at the very least, you'll be helping to protect neighborhood kids from becoming potential victims. He's done it at least 3 times in the past, so who's to say he won't continue?

toycar's friend will NEVER reclaim what was taken from her, and nothing will ever truly make it right. The line has to be drawn somewhere. The guy has faced some punishment already, though I agree that it wasn't nearly enough... but only so much can be done within the law.

But some fucks won't stop passing out flyers and shit! You did 12 years and that was what society asked for punishment. But these fucks are like rabid out of control animals..nothing ...will please them. You just want to be left alone. Heck..you didn't even know a school was nearby and you didn't because you did something 12 years ago! How could it matter now? (No it's not about me) Just when is punishment over?

It's not an "alleged" charge. toycar's friend's wife was one of the victims. I suppose she could be making it up, but something tells me she's not.
Plus, if you're a convicted sex offender, you KNOW you aren't supposed to be within a certain distance from a school. Ignorance is no defense.
Also, getting involved AGAIN with the woman who's family you abused and went to jail for abusing? That's just idiotic.

As I mentioned above, he didn't really do the time for the crime he committed. He plead down the charges, and got a slap on the wrist, instead of a sentence fitting of a third-time convicted rapist.
If this happened in California, this would be his "third strike", and he'd have gone away for life.

Was New Zealand part of that whole prison colony as well? Or do you have the luxury of separating yourselves from the Aussies when stuff like that comes up? Much like Canada and the US do whenever there's an embarrassing fact brought to light about one or the other, since we're so very similar in most ways (except for those French Canadians... it's like they're from another country or something! Honestly, for this punishment would never be enough for a repeat offending pedophile.

Look at the statistics. No offense, but if he served 12 yrs for a hypothetical situation that may or not have been true, in lieu of the fact that he is known for being a pedophile, he deserved it. Its very likely hes going to be a repeat offender, even if he didn't do this, he probably will offend again. The statistics are astounding when it comes to sex crimes and repeat offenders.

He should have never allowed himself to be in a situation that something like this could be accused of him-be it true or not. He should have been aware that being a pedophile and having a history of jerking off in front of children, he probably should not be alone with kids ever again.

I have been close friends with this couple for a little over a decade. He was my best man. I am the godfather to his children, and he is the same of mine.

When he came to me in tears, telling me about the turmoil his wife was dealing with it was hard not to cry myself. I feel bad for anyone dealing with shit like this.

Yes he did.

I think he did serve some time over the Navy shit too, but it was a tribunal I think. Not really sure how that works, but its not the same as being convicted in the court of law when you are in the military.

The punishment he got was not justice. For years he stalked, threatened and raped my friend. He held her against her will, forced sex on her probably a hundred or more times over 3+ years and threatened to kill her if she talked about it. And all of this happened after he had been in the can twice for raping kids.

Can you imagine living like that? Jesus I thought I had it bad getting beat by my stepdad as a kid. I would much rather get beat down over and over again than even once be sexually assaulted.




The legal system has put in place some things that victims can do and thats what this is all about. My part, well Im willing to donate my time and money to help keep that ball rolling. That is a ball that was already in motion when I got behind it though.

This isnt my fight, however I love these people and am not willing to do nothing if legally I can do something.
