A good read about the future of Honda designs

I originally read this over at 8thcivic but seeing that it mentioned our beloved 4th gen Accords i figured a lot of people here would be interested meeting at least two of the people responsible for the CBs designing back in the 90s and seeing how they helping in bringing Honda back from boredom.

Step 1) Acknowledge the problem. Done.
Step 2) Devise a solution. Done.
Step 3) Correct the problem. I've got my fingers crossed!

The only Honda on the market right now that is the least bit "inspiring" is the CR-Z. Styling and technology both are impressive in that car. Still, for such a sporty little car, it falls short of really appealing to... well... ANY market!

That was an excellent article. I am very happy to see Honda trying to get back to their glory days.

The last couple years they have started to slide, and they're lucky they've caught the problem early, and are already addressing the problem(s) quickly.

I was surprised to read they are already face lifting the Civic later this year.

The Civic competes in one of the toughest segments, so when Honda starts losing sales to up and comers like Kia & Hyundai, you know something is wrong.

A colleague of mine interned with Honda, and now he's graduating. We go to the same university for mechanical engineering. They offered him a position in their design department starting in May.

            How cool?

Oh! I never got to be a designer for Ferrari, but I did get to work at the dealership.

I would love to be a designer for Ferrari, or BMW, or Audi, or GM, or a host of other companies that I love...

Ehhh, we'll see what the future brings. As of right now, my life sucks, so...

                    Anyway, Ferrari > Honda.

I don't mind at all, and I've been learning to take stuff with a grain of salt.

I still would love to work @ Ferrari, and I really do keep in touch with the people there. I have an opportunity, and I'm praying that I can perform well enough to turn it into a career. Some may say it's as good as Ferrari, some may say it's better, some may say it's not even close. It's all subjective to the person.

Anyway, I'm glad I have people who follow my progress, and/or keep me in their thoughts (hopefully in a positive way).

                        Thanks for everything.

Good read. It will be interesting to see what ideas they come out with. The CR-Z would be a perfect example of a car that from a design potential, was lost along the way. It could have been as good as the release of the original and everyone was hoping for that I think.

wasn't there a rumor that the CRZ was getting a K series engine with a turbo or something?
