I really don't get it. Any meaning that word had has been long erased. It is now just a greeting no different than bud or dude. Anyone that has a problem with its use IS a racist.

That would be me.
But eh..white people use it. I've seen it and I've laughed about it. If you do direct it at me in an offensive way.
I will get pissed.

Honestly, if it should continue being used, it would be best if everyone could agree that it's only offensive when used with malicious intent. Like, I could call my friend "asshole" and not mean anything by it. I could say the same in anger, and the meaning is completely different. However, "asshole" doesn't carry a connotation regarding an entire group of people. It's just the person that's being addressed.
Imagine two black guys that didn't know each other were waiting in line in a store, and there was a white guy between them. The white guy says something about the black guy in front of him, and calls him the N word. Would the other black guy get pissed? More so than if the white guy just called the guy in front of him an asshole? I'd think so, and honestly, I think he'd have a right to get pissed. For the white guy to use that term, he's using it in regards to the race of the man in front of him... something the guy in back also shares in common.

The blacks who use it and get offended when a white person uses it ARE indeed idiots IMO.Originally posted by lucifer1 View PostI really don't get it. Any meaning that word had has been long erased. Though I do agree, if you use the word in normal conversation, you should accept its usage by ANYONE in normal conversation, as long as it's not used in a malicious manner.
You know... now that I think about it, South Park pretty much addressed this whole topic quite well years ago, when Stan's dad said it on TV, and got shunned for being the "****** guy".

To me, that's even MORE offensive. I sure as hell wouldn't welcome that term, whether it came from another white person or not!

Well really it depends are who you are and who you say it to. Its not like that word is going away soon. Hip Hop music is the most widely commercial shit out. Its weak shit to me but there is some noble songs with actual street content that actually sound good. Or the club bangers but those really dont have any content and are only used to get the club going.
The noble songs are quisckly becoming rare since just about everything you hear or see is "Im a crack head burr I fuck white hoes burr I used drive a benz0 burr! my cocaine expensive like my phantom burr! No more commerical flights cause now the G5 is mine burr! pretty boy swag pretty boy whooop pretty biitch swag! may may may may bach music." These fuckers make the fakest shit ever and sheeple ride their dick, but I digress.
N1GG3R is a world, no fuck that, a PLANET away from the word N1GGA. And while the meaning of N word was originally a term used be slave holder because the slave traders where spanish. The word comes from "negro" that means black. So it was the slave traders that started that N word. Like anything I don't give a fuck, some one tells me not to use the word fine I won't direct it at them but Ill still use the word N1gga from time to time. I try to say bro as much as a can instead of man or dude its better than n1gga.
I was at work once and my coworker ask if me and another guy were married and a couple in front of us told him they were married. He laughed and said "naw my bad I was talking to these *****s". LOL that shit was funny cause he said it so fast and every one in their was black except me I felt special. lol

I think the stigma around the useage of the word, or really race conversations in general creates a situation that allows the effects of the word/situation to still hurt people.
If we could all be like ,"this n i g g a I work with said blah blah blah" and refer to them as they would eachother, it would lose the sting and us white people would stop being so timid about the race issue behind it.
Instead though, using language like that to "connect" or "co exist" amounts to being labled a wigger.
And, black people tend to be very sensitive about anything that could be taken as racist as do whites or anyone else. Race isn't a color specific issue, its a people specific issue.
If they could call us crackers, and we made fun of their chitlens, and then they reminded us about our mayonaise eating differences and we all laughed about it-this whole race thing would be water under the bridge.
So what you guys like chitlens? We eat hot dogs just the same and are none the wiser. We eat watermelon too you know.
It is funny. We are different. So what? If people could look past the obvious issue, and just accept eachother as being different, this would all be a lot easier.
That's how I feel anyways. It's funny hearing white jokes, and black jokes are just as funny.
The problem is only as bad as people make it, in my opinion. It's a lot easier to accept the differences and move on.
Who cares? Are you a good person? That's all that matters, homie.Originally posted by wed3kim a douchebag to people and i don't even own a lambo. whats your point? we, douchbags, come in all sorts of shapes and colours.

Things like "fuckface", "asshole", "dickwad", whatever... those things are ONLY applicable to the person being addressed. Derogatory terms toward an entire group are a different story, though.
As I white guy, I don't feel like any derogatory racial term aimed at me can offend me. Like if a black guy or asian called me something, it wouldn't bother me. I don't know why...maybe I just don't feel there's any really derogatory terms for caucasians? But I'm really down with the anti-black/asian/any other race racism.
I was on kijiji a few weeks ago browsing stuff and this guy had a fart can muffler for sale. In the title of the ad was advertised as "Performance muffler/Nip Can"
I actually emailed the guy because the term Nip Can offended me. He just replied back "whatever, that's what I always hear them called."
