Shop teacher trying to sell me h22 civic

My shop teacher is trying to get rid of his friends civic and wants me to buy it. I think the guy wants way to much for it. It has a H22 turbo, but the body isn't in great condition. It was recently broken into and all of the gauges were stolen. Here are a few picks of it.





















He keeps on telling me to make him an offer. I offered him $2500 for it since I will need to do body work, redo the interior which is all messed up now, I don't know much about the turbo setup either. I haven't seen it in person, but it looks alright if I can get that rust repaired and the one dent on the quarter panel. May be a nice project car.

That sounds fair in my opinion for someone elses project car especially if it has damage. Wait a day or two and then if he asks again, knock off 150 bucks.

The guy did everything proper and my teacher was the one that did all the body work about 6 years ago. All I would have to do is repair the rust, fix the dent, and find $2500

its so rice! For 2500 you can take the h and turbo setup and drop it in a cb then put a pos d15 in and sell the civic for 2000. Geting a d15 back in it may set you back five or six bills

Looks like all the parts are ebay certified. I'd offer 1850.

Hahaha they're is nothing wrong with a d series and they a plentiful with many to chose from and great potential with good aftermarket support.

And since it's already H swap the easiest solution is to put back in a F/H engine and trans.

as ricy as some may think that looks im sure it looks better than 90% of the peoples cbs on this site. just buy it.

man i must have been blind because i didn't even see the rust till now. i was originally suggesting the low ball price because of the trunk and the damaged interior.

i don't think the body kit looks bad or anything, I actually thought it flowed really well with the way the car was lowered. I just didn't care for the trunk. I like the color of the paint too!

An H22 with a turbo....In my opinion I would stay away from it just for the fact that the H22 is not the best motor to turbo unless it has been built properly and for 2,500 I think that better cars are for sale......Again just my opinion and thats not much!!! Take care, Matt in portland

That rust will require a LOT of bodywork (we're talking at minimum a full outer panel patch and inner wheel house rework) to get straight.

That being said that brings back fond memories of 2002.

spec on motor work? no way he just slapped a turbo on a stock h22. if he did stay away!
